I think they'll do this but with Columbus in D and Colorado in B. Then Seattle goes to A and Quebec City goes to C in time.

The problem with kipper is he would be hard if not impossible to keep after next season because of his dollars. Might even be hard to keep him next season. That's why I would just make a huge offer for Lehner. Make it hard for Ottawa to say no.

Hossa has been unreal to start the season. I also really like what I'm seeing out of Hjalmarsson. If he keeps it up he'll earn himself another contract with ease.

You are right on Hammer. He looks like a completely different player. He's always been hesitant on the offensive blue line, but he's making a big effort to not cheat and be responsible. Not a bad thing as long as he knows when to blast away.

11 goals in 2 games is exceptional, but we have to be able to win some games when we only score a couple. That's why we need another goaltender at some point. Scoring four goals and losing sucks. How do you think Coyotes "fans" feel tonight?

All seven of them must be very upset. I agree with you though, the goaltending has to improve. Crawford wasn't exceptional against LA but I don't think he was terrible either. Given the fact that the defense seems to have improved quite a bit since last year, I would say we need to wait a few more weeks to really be able to make a call in either direction.

Rozsival, Hossa, and Bolland were incredible tonight. Just saying. Rozsival's pass to Stalberg to spring him on a breakaway was world class. Backhander from the red line to to the blue line, crisp, and tape-to-tape. Sick, dirty, and oustanding.

Emery should probably get like 3 more starts to show he can keep routine pucks out of the net before the Hawks are obligated to swing a trade for somebody. Unless Crawford has some unforeseen amazing start to the season.

We already know what Emery is capable (or not) of achieving.

Crawford's our starter. Rex is our quarterback. Emery is our backup.

Basically, I'm not too worried about Emery right now after the first game of the season. We'll see in a few weeks, but right now I'm still focused on Crawford.

Ray played an awful game tonight, but come playoff time, we'll live and die with Crawford. Just like last year.

We just need someone better than Emery, Crawford or the new guy will take hold of the job. I still think it would be Crawford but we need the competition to assure it.

What a start to the season! I missed the first game, but the Hawks looked amazing tonight. A couple weak goals on Emery, but it was his first game in forever. The PP looked good, the PK looked awesometastic and they really controlled the tempo of the game. Oduya was good, Rosival was good, Kane, Hossa.. the list goes on. This team just seems way more comfortable with each other, Kruger and Leddy look to have taken steps in their games and all 4 lines are contributing. This team looks very good. I don't think Shaw as the third line centre is going to work out long term, but Bolly looks very good as the #2 centre.

Yep, I thing Crawford would do better if he felt less pressure and was under the impression he is trying to win a spot in net.

EXACTLY! No more has been vets that might solve the problem for a year or so. Great the Hawks get Kipper and in a year when he goes, the Hawks are right back in the same problem again. Instead go and get a young goalie who can solve the problem for years.

I fell asleep during the second period. It was nearing 12:30 by that point. From what I saw Kane looked great, and Rozvisal looks to be a surprisingly decent pick-up. He had a great game, from what I saw.

Glad to have another win.

Kruger 63% on faceoffs tonight out of 8 taken.

For you "Kruger's faceoff %" watchers.
Why was Shaw taking the defensive zone draws for that line in the 2nd half of the game?

Not on several draws that Shaw took they weren't. Kruger was lined up on the RW wall as Shaw took the draw.

Was Kruger on Kane's line last night? Gee how come I saw Kane take a D zone draw after 16 was tossed from the circle? Led to a goal if you remember.

Nice try indeed!

Good on Q to not be passive about this weakness. Kruger taking faceoffs in our end or on the PK will kill us if Q let's it go on. What makes it worse is that Toews is the only comsistent player we have at the dot.

On defense:
I must say that Leddy's game was pretty good last night. I hope he keeps it up.
Keith was just okay, had some hot potato moments, Hammer was strong, and JO was better than the first game. Rozy made some nice plays and Seabrook pretty much invisible (which is not necessarily a bad thing). Emery was bad but we see most goalies struggling to get into game shape.

On forward:
No complaints. Other than Shaw who is struggling for whatever reason. Hossa, Kane and Toews are solid, Sharp had a better game, and the 2nd line looks real good at this point. Stalberg was more involved last night and Frolik has been for both games.

It's nice to be 2 - 0 without a home game yet.
