I really like what I have seen from him so far. He sure lacks size but you can see where all those points in the ahl come from.

At least they are winning. Glad Okposo buried one. Going into the season most people were genuinely excited about his potential playing on that JT line. I don't think that should change much based on one game.

Good for JT getting a couple of helpers. BACK TO A PPG PACE!!! Hopefully he can put a couple more in the bank tonight(including a goal or two).
Hopefully this gives Okie some confidence. We really need him if we have any aspirations of going anywhere this year.

I think the difference with Grabner is that instead of using his acceleration to get himself to top speed, he's using it to get into better positions. So he gets to open spots quicker than everyone which would explain why he's always around the puck and getting chances. He's not as much N-S anymore, he's learning WHERE to be and using his speed to get there.

Much better.

Pretty solid so far. Doesn't stand out, just does his job.

The entire first line had big minutes on Saturday.. Hell A-Mac had almost 28 minutes. Perhaps this is a stretch but maybe its the difference between Cappy and Weight running the bench? Weight I would assume to be more gun-ho and keep leaning on Johnny... But like I said it's probably a stretch.

Maybe I'm in the minority(actually it's not a "maybe", I'm positive I'm in the minority) but I'm actually excited to see DP get a start. Like you said, will most likely be Friday. Would love nothing more than to see him have a big time performance, although I'm sure he will still get hated on.

Solid. Doesn't get a lot of minutes but looks so good positionally and wins battles.

GREAT point, completely agree. The big saves he makes, especially when it's 1-0 and you've squandered 3 PPs and he makes a big save.
Love having Nabokov in there.

Agreed. Grabs looks like a new man. He's even better than he was when he was on his breakaway hot scoring streak (though not as exciting). He's passing MUCH MUCH better, he's playing with his head up, getting to loose pucks and not just floating looking for a breakout pass. He's much more effective when he plays smart like this. I'm impressed and VERY surprised!

Tavares seems to be trying too much. The moves that worked in Switzerland don't work in the NHL. He's much better than last year though, he's quicker, stronger and is carrying the puck more, he's shooting more, but he's still creating offense. Moulson could have had a few goals that period. JT will not be this team's problem this year, he'll be great.

I know he's playing "pretty good" but Aucoin scares me out there. I can't wait until Bailey's back. I'd promote Martin to the 3rd line with Nielsen and Grabner and have a 4th line of Cizikas - Ullstrom - Joensuu. Pests with speed, size and skill.

Curious to see how the Isles play the 3rd period. I hope to see some trap-type system, no penalties and simple simple simple.

He's been excellent. Still not quite sure why your organization gave up on him...

Pretty much how he always was for us, just couldnt crack the lineup due to numbers. Definitely a great waiver pickup though. Happy for him though, would rather see him start somewhere then play another year down in scranton.

Has anybody noticed that Aucoin is using a MacDonald-like stick. It looks almost comical.

Martin is an assist away from having the first Gordie Howe hat trick in the NHL this season.

Personally I would try putting Aucion in PA Parenteaus slot on the PP(right handed shot on the right hand side). he is a right handed shot and Tavares unit seems to be missing that in the little amount of PPs I have seen so far

no playing cards on the team bus. Those edges are nasty-sharp.

He's got the Samson hair now (or is it Delilah)? All bets are OFF with DP in 2K13!

I dunno, with that Cornell edumacation, he'd probably be a bad employee, the whole "millennial sense of entitlement" thing. His boss would smack him around.

Numbers game. He needed to pass through waivers, and the Pens already have Letang, Orpik, Martin, Niskanen, Engelland ahead of him, and probably feels Bortuzzo and Despres should be kept ahead of him as well. The only head scratcher is keeping Lovejoy over Strait, but at that point you're arguing over your 8th/9th defenseman.

I don't get Neilsen playing the point on the PP. It's not like he has a booming shot.

Boyes is perfect for that spot. Soon Cappy will figure that out.
