Worst might be Hanna, since that's where Nickelback is from.

Lake Louise was a favourite. Stunning visuals. Kicking Horse Pass, Elk Island National Park are both great.

Going to get ate up by the Calgary folks, but how can anyone pick Calgary as the best place in Alberta, with Jasper, Banff, Lake Louise, Canmore, Waterton out there?

Nah, I agree. In terms of cities, Calgary is the best I think (obviously I'm biased but still). But when it comes to beauty, nothing beats the Rockies.

as someone born and more or less raised in Alberta--

for best neither Edmonton or Calgary should be on anyones list

and best and worst depends on the time of year and the weather

Anywhere in the mountains is clearly the best to visit.

Calgary and Edmonton are okay cities, but nothing that amazing.

Fort Mac is the worst for just about everything.

I am thinking about moving to Medicine Hat or Red Deer in the next year. I can't stand PEI anymore.

If you're talking about major cities, Calgary is definitely nicer than Edmonton. I work in a small crappy oil town, but now that my lady got a job in Calgary to be closer to me, I'll either have to find one one in Calgary, or do a fly-in, fly-out working Fort McMurray, but living in Calgary. I like the idea of 7 on 7 off, or 14 and 14; or just commute back and forth on my days off..

In terms of scenery, Lake Louise, Jasper, and Banff.

If you're going to move, why wouldn't you move to somewhere decent?

The Nordegg/Abraham lake area is my favorite in the province.

Also really love the area surrounding the Crowsnest Pass and Frank.
Honestly, anywhere where the prairies meet the mountains is spectacular.

Rather live in Edmonton than Calgary, all else being equal.
