We're bringing it back!

To Vancouver: Robidas
To Dallas: Ballard

Hell, Ryder could be had if you're gonna throw in some tomahawk steaks, but it better be a crate of them.

Can we throw in Ebbett or Raymond? Please. They might fall on the tomahawks! That's worth something, right?

Raymond only if you're gonna take back Nystrom.

Or if you want Ryder throw in a pick/prospect in addition to Raymond. Prospect preferred so we can put them in Cedar Park.

Raymond, Ballard, Connauton for Robidas, Ryder?

I could live with that.

I'm still a bit edgy about trading Raymond before he gets a chance to play with Schroeder.

Ballard for Robidas 1-for-1 is fine by me.

I'd rather deal Rodin than Connauton but I'd probably make that trade. Robidas and Tanev could be an awkard 3rd pairing with two RH shots though, and I don't see either of them supplanting Garrison as Edler's partner.

At that point wouldn't it just be putting everyone on their proper side? Elder hasn't exactly looked good (or even okay) on the right - still early days though.

Hamhuis - Bieksa
Edler - Tanev
Garrison - Robidas

Exactly. But have Garrison play right with Edler on the PP like he did with Campbell in Florida.

Edler hasn't looked too good defensively on his off-side so far.

Edler's not playing any worse than the rest of the team. I think he'll be fine once the team gets out of pre-season form and into mid-season form. Heck, Garrison and Edler have outperformed Hamhuis and Bieksa so far defensively. I think it's a little too early to start splitting up the pairings.

How did we suddenly end up giving up Ryder?

If you want Robidas for free (seriously, we'll keep as much salary as possible), please take him.

Seriously though:

Ballard
Raymond

Robidas
Morrow

Sound good?

I think so... wait is Morrow still good? I nhl.com searched him and he's in first place so far this year in games played. That can't be ignored...

He's a good bottom 6er so far, looks healthy enough. Could probably play top 6 with the right conditions. He's riskier than Ryder, but also cheaper.

Look. Ryder's great and all and I wish he would re-up here, but I really don't think he's going to stay.

I keep forgetting Raymond will be a UFA too. But whatever.
