This is the 3rd year of the keeper league and so far.
In 2010 I won the regular season, but came in 4th after the playoffs.
In 2011 I was 3rd in the regular season, and 3rd after the playoffs.
I've continually tried to be active in the trade block, and it just doesn't seem to work, so far Crosby has been traded 3 times, malkin and ovechkin have both changed teams. But whenever I try to make a move it comes back to people wanting Stamkos. There is no talk about any of my other guys. I've tried acquiring kessel, to be met with Stamkos or no. I've tried for lesser players, but people still try to turn into a trade where I'm giving up Stamkos or nothing.
Does anyone have any advice? have you encountered leagues like this? is there maybe a package I should attempt? should I just continue with what I have and hope for smaller trades later this year? Should I load up on picks? (winner of consolation gets 1st overall next year)
Also how should I go about with my goalies? I've got bob and Nabokov playing for 2 weaker teams, and how much longer can kip put up big numbers on a team on the downfall?
