Oh, and homer vote for Granlund from me. In the 2 games he has played so far, he has shown that he belongs to NHL, and will only get better as he gains more experience & chemistry with linemates.

Was expecting Yakupov to be more noticeable in last nights game.

I thought he looked great, didn't try too much. He played very well on the powerplay too making good crisp passes. Really showed that he can be a great playmaker at the next level.

Where's the Conacher option?

4 points in his first 2 games. Gets PP time, plays with MSL and Stamkos. He is going to put up points.

Hopefully Hamilton.

Looking like a stud already through his first 2 games.

Conacher's a good player but I doubt he'll win even if he has a good season due to the fact he's 23 years old.

Was everyone this high on Tarasenko before he scored 2 goals in his debut?

Anyway, voted Tarasenko. He gets to play Detroit D so often.. sigh.

After seeing all of them play their 1st NHL games and considering the teams they play for, this is probably between Tarasenko, Huberdeau and Schultz. Honorable mention to Granlund.

The debut might've helped him, but he was always a favourite going into it. He's a little bit older than a lot of the other guys (but not so much that it would hurt his chances), incredibly polished, and has been laying the offensive smackdown on full-grown men for a while now. He's skilled AND he's a big dude, playing on a scoring line for one of the best teams in the league. There are a lot of things going in his favour, even if we ignore his first NHL game.

Tarasenko's the most likely (I think Schultz is second-most likely), but I'm still rooting for Baertschi.

lol, love this board.... 2 days ago it wouldve been: Schultz, Yakupov, Tarasenko

now Tara is running away with it, and Huberdeau is 2nd

I know, it's pretty laughable the over reactions here. Schultz could have easily had two goals last night himself if Luongo wasn't playing like it was 2002 again. Then what would have happened to this poll?

HF has been picking Tarasenko to be an exceptional rookie long before his debut.

Yeah, but in close heats, not blowing the roof off 55% to everyone else style.

Oh Hf you cease to amuse me. Two games in and Tarasenko is the run-away winner.
