Canucks re-sign Jordan Schroeder (1 year, $600,000, 1-way)

@hosea24hours: The #Canucks announce they have re-signed centre Jordan Schroeder.

@VanCanucks: Media Release: #Canucks have re-signed centre Jordan Schroeder.

@News1130Sports: the #Canucks have announced that they've re-signed C Jordan Schroeder

EDIT: Public service announcement ➡ For general information, he his waiver-eligible. This is not effected by a one-way or two-way contract. One-way means he makes $X in the NHL and $X in the AHL. Two-way means he makes $X in the NHL and $Y (usually 10 percent of his NHL salary) in the AHL.

Happy to hear this. Expecting a good year at thrird line centre for Jordan

Contract should be around a mill, 2-3 years.

Seeing how he had a cap hit of 1m+ the last three seasons, I predict that you are going to be very disappointed.

I expect him to be fairly cheap - 1M to 1.5M range on a two year deal.

He's done nothing to earn more money, so it should be around 1M or 1.5M IMO.

I can't remember what the threshold was for when one way contracts start to count against the cap. I think it was something like every dollar over 1.5 m. whatever that threshold is I'm sure Schroeder will be under it. longer term deal would be better in case he does ever break out. if he doesn't make the team he would be buried in the minors and not count towards the cap. assuming he passes waivers of course.

Showing that you are an NHL ready player and no longer a prospect doesn't deserve a bump over your previous salary?

Schroeder's QO would have been $892,500, so somewhere between that and $1.1M is my best guess.

He never reached bonuses necessary to make his previous cap hit. His salary was just under rookie max IIRC so around 800k.

He's been up and down still. Still think a 1.5M deal on a one year contract is something I can see happening - gives Schroeder another year to prove he's worth more.

Like others have said, my prediction has been for a while that he'll be making $1.25M next season.

1 year probably. I'll reserve judgement until we see the numbers, but I'm happy he's signed.

I'm going to guess its his QO but he got it on a 1 way for 2 years. So 2 years under 1 million. This would be a good deal for him since most players in his situation and his QO would have been a 2 way deal. The guaranteed money will trump extra dollars. Also anyone saying 1.5 million- that's too high for him. He has no leverage, unless its a 3 year deal which in that case he might get it. I doubt the team or the player wants to go 3 years though
