Glad to see Schroeder get the call, from what I've seen the faster players are the ones who for the most part are the ones being the most effective through the whole league. Defense and goalies aren't at full speed yet have struggled on fast breaks.

so what's Raymonds poblem? he should be lighting it up. Maybe Schroeder can help him out.

He's not using his speed properly. Hopefully having another speedster on his line will help him

I can't remember the last time he had a breakaway. kind of strange for one of the fastest skaters in the league. Def doing something wrong.

We need a complete effort. Just play 60 minutes and finish your chances.

We let too many teams off the hook by not burying the puck in the back of the net. Have to start making the opportunities count.

Yeah... too many missed chances. They always cost us in the end. Pucks need to be elevated and jammed into the net.

Absolutely 100% agree. We are probably the best, if not top-3 in the league at generating offense but we just don't seem to be able to find the back of the net some nights for whatever reason.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Irving get the start, but probably will be Kiprusoff if it looks like the Flames are going to ride him this year.

So...

Sedin-Sedin-Kassian

Cool.

Higgins-Burrows-Hansen

Line has a little of everything, speed, grit, skill, sense...Burrows looks a little WTF at center on paper, but let's see this thing play out.

Raymond-Schroeder-Weise

Weise is clearly in a protective role with a guy still recovering from a broken back and our smallest roster player...could be interesting.

Lapierre-Malhotra-Volpatti

Or some variation of this. I'm willing to keep an open mind. Volpattis been doing all we can ask, Malhotra hasn't looked terrible, and Lapierre only looked "meh".

Well here goes nothing, against a softer target then Anaheim. Calgary could be very hungry for a win too though, so we'll probably have to play a very good game.

I like those lines, they all have a chance to be successful in the roles they'll be given. Weise has earned a promotion... I hope that's what that is.

Every AFL emergceny call up/career backup gets their first shutout vs us. It was a unwritten rule in the old CBA and but it's being formalised in to the MoU.

The one thing that worries me a bit about tomorrow is our team had a very tough time scoring on kipper last year.

I dont think we won any games with him, i think karlsson was in every game we won vs flames last year.

Pretty sure we beat the Flames 5-1 with Kipper in net last year.

Looking it up, it was not last year but 2011 november 1, we won 5-1 against kipper. He also came in relief for karlsson in a 5-1 loss later on in the season.

The next few starts from him, we lost 3-2 and scored very few goals on him. I just remember some of us questioning our ability to score after those games.

I hope he has a bad night.

I thought Calgary played Karlsson because of the fact we lit up Kipper?

Err...last season was 11/12. I mean, sure, it wasn't technically last year, but it was still last season.

After that they went with kipper mainly it looks like against us, and we lost 3-2, both times. Except the one game ebbett scored the OT winner they had started karlsson again.

I never know which kipper we will see, sometimes we can light him up, and sometimes we struggle for goals. I just remember in one of those games schneider played great, but said after the game kipper was even better, and many were questioning our scoring heading in to post season on here, we had trouble burying goals on kipper.

I hope we light him up though.

Attention nerds, one of you better be set to post Schroeder's first goal on the main boards, he's now a Calder candidate.

Hell, post his first assist.
