A Food Warning

I was hungry so I tried to make this tuna salad http://fishcooking.about.com/od/smok...r/tunafish.htm I had all the ingredients except the mayonnaise. However, I did have this:

Just thought I'd let you know if you're ever in this situation to get in the ****ing car and go pick up mayonnaise. Horseradish sauce is not the same.

Nothing could wreck tuna salad more than the tuna already has.

I was once out of milk for my cereal, so I just poured sour cream on it. Seemed to make sense.

Or you could just make your own. Eggs, olive oil, dijon mustard, vinegar (and emon juice for more acidity) and salt/pepper are all you need for a basic mayo.

True Story : I've never had tuna in my life because I get so grossed out by the smell. I'm sure it's good since everyone loves it..but I just can't do it.

Idiot. Sour cream isn't even a breakfast beverage. Use orange juice next time.

Thanks. I was just about to make tuna salad. I guess I'll have to wait until I have some mayo.

No, horseradish is not the same as mayo.

However, horseradish would immediately make bland tuna salad taste like something unbelievable amazing. It would be like guzzling a unicorn.

Speaking from experience, don't guzzle a unicorn.

You know, until I read this thread, I was going to use horseradish as a mayo substitute. Thanks for the advice, MaindotC. Now I know not to.

Just saved me from mistaking mayo as replaceable with horseradish. Needless to say it wouldn't have been good on a tomato sandwich

That's almost as bad as having no milk for kraft dinner.

Lucky duck. I used Milk of magnesia. Who knew two products both labelled as "milk" could be so different?

The horseradish sauce has a pretty hefty indigestion factor the next day as well. Im having horseradish flavoured belches and feeling an indigestion burn in my stomach as well. Now that could very well be because im out of shape and eat too much but either way I think you may want to avoid using horseradish sauce as a base for tuna salad.

Ran out of lemon once so I had to use horse radish for lemonade. Seemed like a good idea at the time.
