I remember thinking Mike Richards and Jeff Carter were untouchable too.

That is not how it would happen but man would it be hilarious.
My modified version of that premise would be Bryzgalov to PHX (with salary relief), and Mike Smith to TOR for a pick. Then Luongo to PHI for Voracek or Simmonds.

Too true.

But Nonis had the luxury of time moreso can afford to get beat up by the fans and media a bit more being that he's just starting his job there. Then when Lou takes the Leaves to the playoff for the first time in 7 years he'll be forgiven.

At 2.75m through 2015 its pretty low risk.

Huh? So because he was good enough to make the league at a young age, you're holding that against him? Voracek is 23, has good size, is hard to knock off the puck, and is a proven ES performer.

I'd take a 1 for 1 swap and run. I think he's a much better player than Gagner -- I also think his 4 year 17 million dollar contract is already good value and could end up being exceptional value. Would you rather pay Booth 4.25 or Voracek moving forward? Voracek is already Booth and could be a whole lot better.

An untouchable 40-50 point guy?

This so many times. If we can get Voracek we take it. Perfect winger for Kesler and Booth.

Further to my point about Voracek, I'm pretty sure when I looked at him awhile ago (Copper & Blue had a nice graph of Qual Comp/Zone starts) that Voracek played slightly above average competition and only had a slightly favorable offensive zone start. I think he could hold his own playing with Kesler, or he could play minutes with the Sedins if you wanted to maximize his offensive talents.

Ideally he'd be on a 2nd line and the Canucks would have a shutdown 3rd line again.

Anyway, I don't think a trade with Philly is happening, but I do like Voracek.

The only possibility of trading with Philly I think comes at the trade deadline or summer. Also, only if Bryzgalov performs poorly and appears to be a distraction again.

To TBay for Purcell.

To Philly for B. Schenn.

SCREW IT!!!

This was a misdirection, the team that no one is expecting is the team that everyone is expecting and the player they are waiting on is coming off a concusion...

Jake Gardiner will be a Canuck BOOK IT!!!

Well... actually I highly doubt it but that would be hilarious.

Get over it? Wasn't really on it, just a proposal that I didn't mind.

I have heard talk of Grabovski and his numbers are similar to Nielsen at the same age for double the money.

Obviously Wiese or Vorchek are better options, but just saying we could do worse the Nielsen.

Can move to wing when Kesler gets back.

On what planet is he a better option, contract wise maybe, player wise no.

Dale Wiese, no. Stephen Weiss, yes.

Maybe you misunderstood due to my poor spelling, Weiss as in Stephen Weiss.

Well, Bozak has always been paired with Kessel, so he's always technically going to be our number one center (of the guys we have).

Grabo is traditionally a slow starter. Probably got some guys overacting to a couple good games by Kadri (playing third line minutes), and no production from Grabo. I'm a guy who would like to see Luongo in Toronto, but I wouldn't give up Grabo.

To be fair you read a lot of dumb stuff in every board. I just read a proposal on here where the leafs are taking on Bryz. We all have our share of members who should not be operating heavy machinery.

#Isles Nino Niederreiter's camp is seeking a trade from the Islanders, a source tells ESPNNY. Unhappy with current situation.

Would anyone not want Niederreiter as a Canuck?

Maybe I'm going a little overboard with this NYI scenario as I agree that its unlikely Lu would waive the NTC to go there.

Blake Price just threw out the Dallas Stars... as the team "none of us are thinking about". Logic is there... other than Burke/Nonis who hates the Canucks more than Tom Gaglardi, the Stars owner who sued to OWN the Canucks against Francesco and his brothers.

Hrmmm... maybe the thing that has to happen is a sign (Benn) and trade?

Every team is open to speculation it seems...

They'd have to add and I don't see Luongo wanting to go back to the Island, but you never know.

I'd welcome him, question is, is he ready for the NHL right now.
