Power Play shake up!

No need to hit the panic button yet BUT the PP has been very poor. At this level we need to be able to take advantage of EVERY opportunity. We are a fast team that draws a lot of penalties and we simply need to make teams pay.

I feel Carlyle needs to figure out the right line combos ASAP! IMO the D is a mess on the PP and needs the most change.

Here are my 1st and 2nd lines.

Kessel - Bozak - Kadri
Gardiner - Phanuef

Gardiner to replace Koska because he can move the puck and generate plays. Kadri to replace Lupul.

Kulemin - Grabovski - JVR
Liles - Franson

Keep the KGV line together and add a heavy shot in Franson with Liles to move the puck.

5 on 3

Kessel - Kadri - JVR
Gardiner - Phanuef

Put JVR in front of the net and let Gardiner, Kadri and Kessel create plays with Dion as the big shot.

Hope Randy figures it out soon...

Thoughts?

thats a conditioning stint though...

Liles can step in for now and on the 2nd unit Kostka can be serviceable

#thisisnttwitter. on top of your annoying and unnecessary use of twitter syntax, you contributed nothing new. surely he would have known after the first 5 posters told him right?

anyways, I agree the PP has been a problem. at times we've struggled to gain the zone.. at times we've struggled to get shots through.. obviously we've struggled to finish so here's to hoping they can figure it out. i'd also rather see liles or even franson with phaneuf rather than kostka. i don't want to be too critical but kostka blew a bunch of beauty chances last game.

I'd take Phaneuf of the top pairing as he is reckless with his slapper. Put Kessel at the point, he has a hard slapper that he rarely uses and is much more consistently accurate (less injured players). This also lets kessel float and move in for a sniper.

I definitely want to see a set up like this:

Kessel-JvR-Kadri
Gard-Phaneuf

Looking at our team those five players would probably give us the best chance to score.

This Guy. #thanksforthetippops

Anyways, yes Gardiner should be on the PP, I am sure he will be when he makes it back. I want to see Liles there too.

You do realize the shot was on net when it hit Lupul. And Kessel had a hard clapper when he upped his stick from the 75 for that Bauer video, with his 75 it woudn't be 100+MPH, it would just break.

Really has nothing to do with the lines and everything to do with the system their PP is using. They're getting no traffic in front and while they're passing, they aren't moving which allows the PKers to just stay in the passing lanes and box them out.
