BDGallof basically just pooped on this rumor. Implying it's possible something was leaked from Nino "camp" to speed a promotion along, but doubts a formal trade request was or will be made.
So Strang stretched the truth to appear relevant. Next time just tell us what breakfast cereal Nino likes.
Who is the agent? What other team would he have a better chance of cracking? they should send him to Detroit so he can sit in the minors until he is 23 and be better for it. This agent should do a better job of advising and not just relaying messages. Lets face it he is going to get called up at some point when the injuries hit or if a losing streak happens. This is a big mistake in my opinion.
Nobody ever looks in the mirror. If he had busted his ass last year, and played the kind of nasty power forward game as was hyped, then he would have scored more than 1 goal (even if by accident) and would still be with the big club. Instead, he played 55 games of deer in the headlights, proving he was not ready.
Requesting a trade (if he actually did) is stupid. Look in the mirror again. Keep busting your ass, play the kind of game you're supposed to, and you're chance will come. Injury and/or suckage is inevitable on this team. There will be call-ups. Make yourself the obvious one.

I agree here, especially if Nino had gotten the call and not stepped up his level and flopped again this year. Everyone would have ripped Snow/Wang for not allowing Nino to continue to develop in the minors.

Since when did we check reporters' reliability with BD Gallof?
I wonder if Streit called his 'little bro' and tore him a new one.
So all of this essentially amounts to an overzealous Strang and an overzealous agent who wants Nino on the Isles. Great, we're still the laughingstocks of the NHL. What else is new?
Some of the trade proposals in the Trade Forum were pretty funny/abysmal at least.

I just went there to see what some of them had to offer and you are correct. Some of them are just down right awful. As if Nino is no longer regarded as one of the better LW prospects in the league.

I love the posters saying that he hasn't proven anything in the NHL. As if more than a handful of 20 year olds had.
Katie Strang. She has a "scoop" and we're going by her? Probably something blown out of proportion, BUT....I wouldn't doubt Nino isn't happy with the team.
He just didn't have anything. He was royally screwed by Snow (WANG).
So he got a taste too early like DP did.....rushed and stupid management let him rot out there. Now, like DP, he expected to stay in the pro's. Yet another bad move.....the management hurt his development and made a young guy think he'd earned it with strong AHL play, rather than going over what he lacked, explaining to him why our cheap owner let him play in the NHL in the first place and why staying in the AHL (as was the case with Portland to those 9 game tryout posters who insisted "he get a chance") was the best thing for his WHOLE CAREER.....
So if it is true and Strang wasn't a useless tool reporting this, don't trade him and start managing the team better from top to bottom, fire Snow and bring in someone to better organize this team (pretend it's an NHL team and professional!) or trade him and get rid of any drama, making a stance that only those who want to play here (all six guys) will play here.
I, personally, would bring in a reputable Team President, but Wang doesn't want that. Too much money and that would be one more guy hired that wouldn't be allowed to do his job correctly.
WTF are you talking about. So many around here, you included, jump an any chance to dump on Snow/Wang and this is just your latest chance.
Last year, most everyone here was on Snow for having Nino up here. Claimed it was for cap reason, which was debunked. Now, he's in the AHL, where most of you say he belongs, but your still crapping on Snow, Wang and the org? Talk about talking out both sides of your mouth. Are we to believe the Islanders are the ONLY team to have a prospect play all or part of a season in the NHL, then spent additional time in the AHL? Lets use Detroit for an example as you ofter love to do:
Abdelkader, 2 whole years between NHL and AHL before full time NHL
Filppula, again, 2 seasons of mixed time
Helm, same
Smith, same
When other teams do it, its the right way. When the Red Wings do it, its the model way. When the Islanders do it, it sucks and is the display of a mickey mouse organization.
Maybe Nino is pisst, be he handled it poorly if true. You don't go to the media with this ****. You work your ass off and make it impossible for Snow and co to keep you down.
The double speak from people around here really pisses me off!
It just doesn't make sense to me why he wouldn't have been at least invited to camp, considering he's leading Bridgeport in scoring, especially considering that he was on the Isles last year.
If this is even true it has to be because of this. He must have felt with the year he was having he would at least be at camp. He needs to use this as fuel to get even better, not to ask out he has no leverage.

Considering at the time it was the only tweet about Nino other than Strang's, I thought worth posting. Next time I'll check with you though before I report on certain tweets. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Ah yes, I remember I hated the pick of Niederreiter on draft day for various reasons. One being I didn't think he didn't have the elite talent of a top 5 pick, another being that there was a stud defenseman available in Cam Fowler. It just didn't make sense to make to draft a player with less upside at a position that we didn't need as greatly as defense.
But apparently I missed another one: he's a punk ass little baby.
