Most likely to revive career: Redden or Gomez?

Ok, so which player is the most likely to revive their career with their new teams?

My prediction: Gomez fails, but might bounce around the league for another season before retiring.

Redden will at some point receive 2nd pairing duties and signs a Souray-like contract in the offseason.

Depends on what your expectations are.

Neither will be elite again. I think both will be serviceable and will get a short contract after this season. I think in the grand scheme of things Gomez will be considered more productive for the remaining of their careers.

I'm expecting Redden to be a veteran #5 d-man who can slot in the top four if needed.

I'm expecting Gomez to fail in a bottom-6 role and retire after two seasons.

Gomez... He really bad when he's asked to carry the load but in SJ he can just fit in.

Redden played 17+ minutes and looked great tonight for the Blues.

Gomez

I could see him maybe becoming a 2nd/3rd line tweener kind of guy

Redden I highly doubt will ever again be more than a bottom pairing d-man

if all things go, Gomez is setting up to have a pretty easy ride in SJ. He has alot of speed and is great at gaining the zone and sharks wont really need him to score.

If he can grind i will call that a success, i wouldnt really bet on him scoring over 40-45 points again in his career though

I think less of Redden because he has played in the minors while Gomez was able to stay in the nhl. I know that it has more to do with their teams cap situations but that is just how I feel.

Redden will be playing in a better system and I think the Blues forwards will be able to cover for him fairly well. I don't expect him to be anything but a bottom pairing d man though.

Gomez will have a lot less pressure on him but he will have line mates that won't bail him out in the scoring department. We won't be relying on him to get assists or goals bevause of this though. I would not be surprised if he manages less than 25 prorated points (~15) with what he has.

I think Redden being paired up with Petro, will make him bounce back quicker.

No doubt, Redden. He was more a victim of cap relief the past few seasons. Gomez has been playing at an ECHL level for 2-3 years now.

Redden.

as was mentioned, Gomez for the last 2-3 seasons was PLAYING at a ECHL level while Redden was banished to the AHL the last couple of seasons.

Clearly Redden.

He will play with Pietrangelo to start.

Pietrangelo made Huskins look decent, and Colaiacovo look good.

Redden just has to play decent positional hockey, and he'll look good.

Gomez needs to put up some points, or his time in San Jose will be,I'm sorry, I can't resist, pointless.

I don't expect either to resign with their current team.

The ****?

I pick Redden because he'll get Pietrangelo. Gomez has Galiardi and Wingels or Sheppard and Burish.
