On the road, or not after a dominant shutout, sure... but Marty's hot right now, why sit him?

I wouldn't mind Hedberg, really wouldn't mind either way, I guess.

The PK did some great work tonight. Zajac and Yayo stood out among the forwards on the killing units.

And of course Kovy is now a + player for goal differential on the PK again already.

Exactly this. He was not good on the breakout tonight. Really, he never is, but it was especially noticeable tonight.

I thought we played like crap. Didn't really get many scoring chances and were pin our zone for a lot of time. Thankfully Marty was great and the flyers look like crap.

Right like I said, if he's the best guy to help the team then he is the best guy to help them.

Great win. Marty and Zajac were the standouts for me they were both great. Greene-Fayne were solid as usual. I still want Larsson in lol I've been waiting to see him for a while now. This team is really solid though.

I like Moose, we all do. That said, I'm going to be at the game on Friday and I want #30 behind the crease.

The consensus from the Devils was they played better vs. Isles. Brodeur held them in it in 1st period and got some breaks on their goals.

As much as it hurts to say I think I would roll with this lineup again defensively, and keep Larsson out one more game. It's been pretty good. I was hoping Moose would get the start Friday to give him some work since Marty will definitely start up in Montreal this weekend.

I think we should ride the hot hand with Marty though. He's been pretty phenomenal. Hasn't looked this good in quite a while first two games in. Especially with no pre season work at all too it's pretty incredible. The team has been playing very good in front of him, and he's there to make the big saves that he has to. I'm pretty impressed overall.

Team definitely could have looked better. Can also say that about a number of different aspects or points along the way. But ultimately it wasn't a bad game. Brodeur definitely earned every bit of that shutout. Curious to see if we have any lineup changes for Friday despite the win. Zidlicky was awful tonight. Just not sure if either a) this is enough to consider scratching him for a game or b) if they even feel that they could replace him given his role on the PP. I do want to see Larsson get in though as I wasn't exactly wowed with the defense at times along the way.

We need Adam back bad and another winger so we can roll 4 lines and not 3 lines including last playoff runs 4th line.

We still could use some help in the forward department I think.

Whatever though Brodeur got a shutout against a team that hasn't won yet this year, and he only stopped 24 shots which is nothing thanks to us playing the trap!

Not a good sign for Tedenby when an 18 year old rookie is getting played over you in a 3-0 game.

I'm glad that they aren't taking this 3-0 too far and letting it effect their heads.

Start Brodeur on Friday against the Caps and Sunday in Montreal (hometown special). Rest him against either Boston or the Islanders.

Really liked the intro they did tonight with the Hurricane Sandy tribute they incorporated

As far as the game goes, we showed periods of solid play, but overall a lot of sloppiness - PP was yech

Wouldn't that be the perfect time to play a rookie? So he gains experience?

Well Matteau's clock is pretty limited too as far as auditioning, although at the rate things are going Tedenby will be on the same plane out of town Matteau will be in two weeks, only Matteau will get a return trip ticket to take with him and Tedenby won't.

He had around 10 minutes of ice time tonight. That seems pretty good to me for a rookie. It's not like he's getting Janssen ice time of 3 shifts a game.

I wouldn't mind seeing Matteau stay up all season. He played a great game tonight.

It would be a good time to play everyone, yet Tedenby and Janssen sat on the bench. I don't think DeBoer was real happy with Tedenby's play tonight.

I've become more worried about our forward group after this page and half.

Probably the best thing about the game (besides Marty) is the Devils got some extended PP practice time. God knows they need it.
