I personally don't care about it. The league has had it's fair share of trouble and it hasn't even started yet. Last year I had no hope that the NHL would play a season other then no league had ever closed down. But I do feel that there will be NHL hockey next season as just a gut feeling. But if there's not, I'll continue to follow Hamilton and any team that has a Hab prospect as I have been doing the last 4-5 years.

This WHA idea is a pipe dream. Their "draft," last summer, was an utter mockery. Should they begin playing with NHLers. What becomes of the WHA if the NHL/NHLPA agree on a new CBA (let's say) in November?

Having Hamilton in the WHA doesn't make sense either. The Bulldogs have exclusive rights at Copps Coliseum. I can't see them sharing the facility with some team from a upstart league.

Back in 1972, there was a need for the WHA. Since the NHL had 16 franchises then. The new rival league gave those in the minors a better opportunity to play as a pro, travel as a pro and earn pro wages. Top NHLers were lured because of the money. After a few years, many returned.

But what a shame that they make it so hard to follow AHL or Junior on a constant basis...
Now that NHL's season is gone for good, I have a very deep interest in the dogs... but they won't even show the highlights of the game on TV...

IMO that's a stupid system if they want to look serious...

If the 'new' WHA couldn't capatialize on a year without NHL hockey, I have no faith that the thing will ever get off the ground.

I mean if a new North Americian pro league can't get it's **** together when it had the chance to be the only game in town they should just forget the whole thing.

DOA.

Habs or Dogs for me. I'd rather watch the Verdun Dragons over a WHA match

I hope it never starts. There isnt enough talent for 30 NHL teams, anyone they lose to a rival league just makes the NHL worse and i dont think its very good right now.
