Wait, what? Why did I get volunteered?

Oh, you want to give them the finger. I'll take a look tomorrow. Err, today. Do I get hazard pay? Because talking to LA fans can kill brain cells.

Edmonton is the joke of the NHL. I would be horrified at what I'm seeing if I was a fan. Legacy as having the greatest team ever to play and the greatest player ever to play and now a sustained version of this ****show.

I just do not understand how a team can be so horrible. Or, for that matter, how some of the fans could so delude themselves to think this year would be different. They were **** at even strength last season, and what did they do to improve that? They added Schultz, a player known more for his effectiveness on the PP, and Yakupov.

I really hope they don't get another #1 pick. They're 2 points off being last in the league again.

I don't think anybody wants to see that, but I sure do love seeing them suck big time. Couldn't happen to a more deserving team and fan base.

I'll risk the jinx and say that the Hawks' streak ends tonight.

So their plan is to get 18 first round picks and then win the Cup, right ?

The king fits right in with them: no defense by anyone on that team.

We would be in the same boat if we lost Getz, Perry, Koivu, Selanne all in one season. Give em time all their star players are super young. I have them winning a cup in the next 5 years.

I realized again how the Blackhawks are the only reason the Ducks aren't getting much more attention. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, it just hardly sinks in how outstanding a 17-3-3 start really is. Completely unreal.

I'll probably look at some of the posts I read during the summer and lockout from Oiler fans, on how we're looking at another top-5 pick while they're making their way to the playoffs. Amazing stuff. Will resist the urge to bump stuff, though, I hope.

When did they lose guys like that? And, to be honest, no, even if we did, I'm fairly sure we wouldn't be in that boat. Have to rebuild in that scenario? Sure. But three finishes in dead last, and one in 28th in a row? No team really manages to be in quite that boat. Even bad teams tend to be able to pull themselves together and at least come remotely close to a playoff spot over such a span. It really is embarrassing. Not as much for their players as for their front office, though.

You probably shouldn't. Not all their young guys are star players, yet. They have potential, but it's obvious that club is still missing a lot to make the playoffs, let alone beat established and experienced teams there. It's a very healthy example of how tanking isn't a blueprint for success.

Columbus running train on Detroit right now. I love it.

Their star players can be as good as they want. Their blueline and bottom 6 is garbage. And their top 6 is soft and easily manageable by a physically imposing team. I'll bet you 50 bucks they don't win the cup in the next 5 years.

To be quite honest I've heard this "the young players need time to develop" thing quite enough. How has Tampa Bay turned it around? Chicago? (those teams only needed one first overall pick) Edmonton is a garbage team run by idiots.

If they win a cup in the next 5 years I get to choose anyone on your roster in our dynasty and likewise on mine.

If they win the Cup it will be because management goes a completely new direction, and likely trades one of those 1st overalls when they do it. What they are doing? You're not going to win a Cup that way. You score some on the PP, and then fumble around at even strength. This isn't a team that needs time. It needs direction.

Just looked at the standings, and man, the west looks like it's going to be tight again this year.
