Everyone is back to not knowing what to expect again! It hasn't been this way for over a year. Welcome back to the past.

I felt this way during the playoffs but I obviously never expected them to play like this.

That is absolutely true...fate can be very cruel . However , you also can improve on some things to give yourself that better opportunity . I would , and I'm sure 99% of us here would also , love to find a PP puck shooting specialists and I would overlook his defensive woes if he can help our PP improve by 30-40 more goals over a full season...not unrealistic #'s with some of the guys like Gabby/Richie/Nash/Cally as our top 4 . That added offense wins us more games and allows Hank to be human from time to time .

If you think back to late last season as well... this team has had a hard time coming out ready to play.

That to me is leadership. Coach, assist, captain, assit captains, vets... need to step it up. We have to come out strong and get the fans into it. NO EARLY PENALTIES!!!

Why would the Bruins, a worse offensive team score 2 more goals? I'm not counting the empty netter.

Thats what cost us the entire Pens game, it started soo good and then the entire momentum was gone with the PP goal early.

Get'r done tonight!

(although I believe the first W is tomorow against the Philly Flyers)

If anyone (including NYR players) think that the Flyers won't play balls to the wall tomorrow after going 0-3 this year to start the season and getting swept by NYR last year, they have another thing coming.

I had tickets offered to me for this game but decided to pass them up.... Had a bad feeling about this game given recent developments.. Knowing my luck the Rangers will shock us and blow the Bruins out tonight haha.

Lundqvist was the first goalie off at the optional skate, that usually indicates he is starting.

Have a feeling we will see more offense in this game than the last time we met.

4-3 Rangers.

Good thanks.. I only ask because i'm considering putting down a large sum of money on the Rangers.. I feel they avoid the 0-3 start and don't lose to the same team in the same week.

To be honest, im more concerned about seeing the team commit themselves to the right type of overall play defensively and on the forecheck, than winning. Of course they need the points but if they arent in the cards tonight for whatever reason, at least start playing Rangers hockey, in MSG.

Dont get me wrong, it would truly suck to go 0-3 to start the season - but I dont think theres another team in the league that has a tougher opening 4 games. There might be a gold lining to all of this in that they will be forced to ratchet up their battle level and taste some disappointment right off the bat, especially with all of the expectations and predictions for this team smattered all over the media world.

Another thing is that after tomorrow they will have played 2 out of their (league-low?) 6 back to backs, and not another set until March. Not that those sets bothered them last season, they actually played very well in the back to backs, but its a different animal this year with this compact schedule and I think those 2nd games will prove to be difficult to play in the longer the season goes on.

I'm hoping at least one line clicks tonight and sets it's identity, whatever that may be. Im also hoping that the skating improves and is done so by taking straight lines to the puck. The stickhandling, giving and receiving passes and general crispness of the team improved a tad in the Pitt game (horrendous in Bos) but im hoping it gets a lot better tonight, because they are a lot sharper than what weve seen. That helps shore up some of the mental mistakes theyve been making by not overthinking and being a lot more decisive.
