Welcome Back Raffi Torres!

The BS suspension is over, and Raffi Torres makes his return against the Dallas Stars. I am seeing a 2 point game in his return.

Let's take a look at past retribution towards players from their actions!

1) Chris Simon of the New York Islanders, for stomping on the leg of Pittsburgh's Jarko Ruutu in December, 2007. It is the seventh suspension of Simon's NHL career. This got him 30 games.

2) Marty McSorley of the Boston Bruins, for knocking out Vancouver's Donald Brashear by swinging a stick at his head in March, 2000. McSorley misses 23 regular season games.

3) Todd Bertuzzi of the Vancouver Canucks, for serious injuries sustained by Colorado's Steve Moore when Bertuzzi jumped him from behind in March, 2004. Bertuzzi misses 13 regular season games, plus seven playoff games. His suspension is listed as indefinite, but the following season is cancelled due to a labor dispute and he is allowed to return when the NHL resumes in the fall of 2005.

4) Steve Downie of the Philadelphia Flyers, for deliberately targeting the head with a body check on Ottawa's Dean McAmmond in September, 2007. This was a 20 game suspension.

5) Dave Brown of the Philadelphia Flyers, for cross-checking Tomas Sandstrom of the New York Rangers across the face and breaking his jaw in November, 1987. This netted 15 games.

But don't worry Raffi, you are really what's wrong with the league. You really should have just taken your twig and beat Hossa over the head with it.

The OP is right if he is saying BS Suspension for the length..

Doesn't matter too much he's a scummy player so he's going to do it again, another suspension incoming shortly.

You mean exactly 25 games? Guy needed to learn his lesson, and maybe now he has.

Yay, the human torpedo is back. Hossa who is an incredibly smart and strong player and leaves on a stretcher due to play that was anything but a hockey play as Torres claims.

Torres jersey sales off the charts soon, that is if that team relocates to a hockey market. Good thing NHL game center is offered in Glendale.

"The BS suspension is over"...

That's all I'm going to say in this thread, because it shouldn't be dignified with anything more.

I'd rather get hit in the head by a stick, that weighs less than a pound, than have some ****ing idiot, weighing in at 200+ pounds, build up speed and launch himself into my head.

Raffi Torres is scum. He's made a career out of predatory hits and anyone nave enough to believe he'll change is just that, extremely nave.

Raffi's suspension has already been discussed at length here. There is also a Raffi celebration thread in the Phoenix forum.
