Hard to pin the blame on Mason for the loss, but he's still at best average. You can't pay the money he's getting for that.
And wow I really am seeing how OEL gets those Lidstrom comparisons thrown out, what a gamer. I'd really love to get out of the Western Conference because of him and Pietrangelo. Well on top of all the other reasons.
Mason hasn't been good, but that last one was solely on JJ with that stupid undisciplined penalty.
he makes most of his saves with the goal posts, and generally looks so untrustworthy and produces so many rebounds the rest of the team stops trying. He makes less stops than a hot dog placed in the goal crease would.
Don't blame Mason. Maybe should have had the 4th goal(although not sure what happened exactly). But even still, by then it was a 4-1 game. Need to score more then once to win games. What lines does Richards try next?
Horrible Oilers loss last night and horrible Blue Jackets loss tonight, my teams makes me angry so often!!
Mason really needs to go to Springfield to get work. He can't get it here, the team can't afford it. He won't be claimed off waivers, we aren't that lucky!
JD is seeing what we've been seeing now for years.
Nobody played well, and Steve Mason didn't either, but he isn't why we lost this game. He kept us in it early but couldn't keep it together long enough. Not his fault. Just a terrible performance.

The next move should be Scott Howson's. Sit Umberger or Brassard and bring up JAM.

They would need to send someone down to call up Jam right? Anyhow, making Umberger or Brassard a healthy scratch might wake them/team up. Heck, I would even try Calvert on the top line and go back to Letestu on the top 2 lines, things can't get any worse.

Colton Gilles? We're not using him anyway and I seriously doubt anyone is going to claim him. I'm glad we're in agreement about sitting one of the veteran Jackets.
Does Richards give the team a day off tomorrow morning because they play tomorrow night? Don't want to be tired(although the way they played, they shouldn't be tired) or do they practice? Team needs lots of practice to get it going.

Yes, I forgot about him. Even if he gets claimed, no big loss.
