MacT is playing Hemsky/Smyth on the PK a lot tonight. 2:45 thru 2 periods for Hemsky to lead the Oil forwards.

Interesting.

Really A.M. travels really far especially considering its only prairies between us and radio waves travel farther at night maybe you got a crappy radio I can always pick it up when I pass through Calgary.

It depends on how good your antenna is and where you are in the city. I find when I'm listening in the car it's fine as long as I'm not under any power lines, but I can't pick it up in my house.

Dvorak hit the post, almost made it 2-0. As an aside, Rod just said that Ryan Smyth was "rumpled" by someone. Our man works on a whole different level.

Oh yes, it's definitely a word. I just haven't heard it used in a hockey game.

Who was the Oilers 6th defenseman tonight?

The only names I heard were Staios, Semi, Bergy, Luoma, & Fergy

Sarno must have made some good plays tonight, he got Larscheid and Shorty excited a couple of times.

I only got to hear the first 2 periods, but I read in the box score that Smyth's goal was with a 2 man advantage.

Anyone know how that happened? Larscheid and Shorthouse didn't seem to know, or didn't say.

A few of the boys rocked on the dot.

Stoll - 12 / 18 - 67%
Reasoner - 11 / 18 - 61%
Wright - 2 / 3 - 67%
Smyth - 2 / 6 - 33% - he won 2 faceoffs
Sarno - 2 / 8 - 25%

Great news about the faceoff success. The boys really got schooled in Calgary. I didn't see the line-ups posted anywhere. Can someone direct me to a link or post, please.

Who did the Canucks dress?

Thoughts on tonights game

Arrived home from the game.

Bergeron was very good tonight, he knows how to control a pp. When to come in, when to dish it off and when to shoot the puck. He also played well defensively.

Luoma's lack of footspeed gets him in some trouble defensively as he doesn't position himself as well as a guy like Cross.

Staios had a monster game tonight, he was just excellent defensively and IMO made the most important play of the game. The Canucks had gained some momentum when Cavanaugh (sp?) had a great hit on Hemsky and Cavanaugh was trying to get in everybody's face. Steve Staios cross checks him they go and Staios lays a beating on Cavanaugh. Goodbye Canuck momentum.

Stoll was great defensively and really seemed to control the faceoff dot, good game by him.

Salo has improved in handling the puck, he actually shot it around the boards a couple of time and got some mustard on it so it arrived at the attended targets.

Players that try to hit Torres just bounce off and fall down. This created a few chances for the Oilers.

Jovocop and Bertuzzi tried to intimidate the Oilers and goad them into penalties. Didn't work, Jovocop just looked stupid as the Oilers ignored him. Good discipline and not a lot of discipline showed by the Canucks who looked tired.

Good system play by the Oilers, the Canucks look baffled by the Oilers various breakouts out of their own zone, the Oilers were always in the Canucks face all night and because of this the Canucks couldn't get anything going.
