No, but the Blockbuster I managed in college had a ton of pro athletes come in. Mike Tyson, Chris Carter, Leonard Marshall, Irving Friar, Svehla, Dvorak, both Bures, and it's where I met Paul Laus. I'm forgetting a few. All were very cool, Pavel pretty much just got in and got out, I always kept movies to the side for all of them so they could get in and get out.

Paul and I struck up a friendship then, we still keep in touch.

Tyson was really funny and polite. Always had body guards with him.

Chris Everett, Vince McMahon, and Sandra Bulloch, too. She's more beautiful in person.

was at a bachelor party at club erotica in pittsburgh & saw ian moran. we told him our dek hockey team was short a few the next night and asked if he would fill in. said the bruins (who he was just traded to) wouldn't be too happy. anyway he asked where to go for a lap dance and we pointed him in the right direction.

Ryan Whitney. Great guy, quite down to earth and funny as hell. Talked about the then upcoming 2011 draft and he felt as strongly as I did that RNH was the right choice over Larsson.

I met Marty Biron at an airport bar at the Buffalo airport. This was while he was with the Islanders.

We were both waiting for the same delayed flight back to NYC. I was just sitting at the bar watching the NFL game when someone comes up and takes the open bar stool next to me. Looked over and did a double-take that it was Marty Biron.

Flight wound up being delayed for over an hour. My wife and I chatted with him, mostly about life on Long Island (she's from Long Island) and restaurants around there.

We weren't pestering him, but he's a chatty guy. As a talkative as his reputation has it.

You can run into buffalo players randomly all the time. Over the years one could play a game of volleyball against Derick Roy at the beach in the summer, see Tyler Meyers at the italian restaurant around the corner, run into Andrew Peters walking his dog at a festival, watch Tim Connolly steal your friends girlfriend...

They're regulars around town and usually very nice to fans if you give them the proper respect and space.

Young hockey players are often from cold weather - beer drinking towns and contently fit in just fine. Bills players are another story (but the alumni that settle here are usually great since they love the area and chose to stay).

We like to play "how many head-shakes can we get from Tony Hand per game"

And there's a couple of guys who played a couple of games in the show

Not recently but I remember when I was little I met Petr Sykora at a pizza place in West Orange, NJ. Happiest day of my life then. Haha. I also remember seeing Doug Gilmour at a Wendy's during his time in NJ too. Got an autograph. Good times. Good times.

Over the years, I have met several. Some memorable ones:

- Denis Savard, very nice guy
- Jacques Demers - above and beyond super nice. Gave us all the time in the world
- Brian Bellows - bit of a jackass
- Wade Redden - tool, at the time
- Know Eruzione well enough. Great guy.

But my winner for nicest NHLer I've ever met: Trent Klatt.

I was just watching a Dallas practice from rinkside and not even paying attention when he walked up beside me and started watching. I didn't even look. He came over, introduced himself, shook my hand and started chatting about the team and what was going on during practice. Very un-assuming, no ego, decent guy.

For starters, awesome thread.

I have not met Del Zotto but have had two friends with two differ stories

Friend A had a friend whose roomate in NYC is a Jets Cheerleader. She brought home Michael Del Zotto one night, i guess bang buddies of some sort, and right when he got there he befriended the roomate. He proceeded to ignore the girl and play FIFA with the guy. When she asked for him to come into the bed room, he was like yea yea ill be right there then proceeded to play and say to his new friend, we will finish this game

Met Wideman at a wedding. Good dude, pretty laid back and down-to-earth. Hot wife who was really nice too.

Friends have met Kadri and Perry and both were complete dickbags.

Basically anyone who's ever gone out to a bar in Buffalo has run into Derek Roy at some point

Favorite was Brian McGrattan in a Pizza Pub outside Binghamton. The place was pretty empty and a friend I was with knew a friend he was with. Pretty nice guy. Had a good time.

Add Gagner to that mix. He's the only Oiler my friends and I really had an actual conversation with there, he was pretty cool about it. My really drunken friend told him about 5 times in the most obnoxious way that "good god you're ****in short", but he just laughed it off.

Also, one night in Billy Bob's in Red Deer one of my buddies got kicked out for trying to scrap with Kris Russell. I wasn't there for how it started but I just assume all the blame belongs to my buddy, 'likes to fight' guy

How about the entire 2001 Colorado Avalanche Stanley Cup team? I was unbelievably fortunate enough to have been a guest of the team for game 7, invited into the locker room for champagne out of the cup, and join the team afterward for dinner at the Chop House. I will never forget Shjon Podein running around the parking lot in his full uniform (including skates) screaming his head off. It was the most amazing experience joining those men for the biggest night of their lives. Eric Messier couldn't believe that we drove all the way from Hershey just to see the game (as if we would miss it).
