I saw Scott Hartnell and some teammates walking out of the Blue Oyster last year as I was driving by.

Back in the day I met Bryan McCabe, Bryan Smolinski and Eric Fichaud in a random bar on Long Island. Just talked to them for a few minutes.

Great thread!

I was VIP at the Toronto and Edmonton Road Hockey to Conquer Cancer events so met tons of guys there.

-PK Subban, MDZ, Clarkson, Joel Ward, Gardiner, Frattin, Domi, McSorely, Sittler, Laraque, Peplinski, Grant Fuhr, and a bunch of other guys.

Notable: PK was great, pictures, autographs and played hard with his team all day! Sittler spoke at the event and did an unbelievable job. Met Grant Fuhr at the bar to sign autographs- we had 200 for him to sign and he was happy to do it.

Funny story- We had a bunch of stuff for Sittler to sign in the VIP tent, so he was just walking around signing everything. He even grabbed one of PK's sticks that he was donating and signed that! Unique silent auction item: PK Subban game used stick signed by PK....and Darryl Sittler.

...also had a meeting with Jim Peplinski while he was in town for ScotiaBank Pro-Am. He told me to grab some breakfast (we were at a hotel buffet) and go sit at the table with the three guys to my left. I went and sat down and the three guys were Gordie Howe, Mark Howe and Bryan Trottier!

They told some HILARIOUS stories and just treated me like one of the guys. Really nice guys!

I served Shawn Horcoff and his family when I was a bartender in college several years ago. I lived in Orlando at the time so I am assuming they were going to Disney. Very nice and everything. I am pretty sure I was the only one who recognized him being he isn't a star and he plays for Edmonton in the western conference.

In Tampa Ive seen Malone at the mall. I also saw Evan Longoria at my local bar mixing it up. Fans are pretty cool with their sports figures around here. Usually left a lone for the most part.

When I used to go to bars when I was a bit younger I got to party with Jani Ninnema a couple of times, he was really, really cool. Georges Laraque bought drinks for everyone in a very small pub I was in once, and Jarett Stoll, Raffi Torres and Matt Greene once paid for everyones drink in a rather large night club I was in once in Edmonton.

Also played some craps with Mike York, he didn't really say much

That was me, and I'm not telling that story again. It was meant to show how great / approachable he is and how much I appreciated it, but it got blown of proportion and I regret my choice of words. Nothing really bad happened; my college friend actually ran into him and a bunch of other Preds at Tin Roof after eliminating the Red Wings last year. Anders said it wasn't a big deal / no worries, but I still felt silly.

That said, it was one of the better nights of my life and he's a super nice guy.

I've met Denis Savard - got him to sign my jersey. My mom got VIP box seats at the UC and I got to talk to Tony Esposito for a while and Al Secord. Vince Vaughn was there as well but I see him a lot and have drank with him quite a few times considering we live in the same area and go to the same bars. He knows me but always gets my name wrong.

It's not hockey but I got drunk with Anthony Thomas and Olin Krutz when they were playing for the Bears. Olin Krutz got up and started singing on the bars PA system - he was wasted. However it isn't unusual to see Bears players considering tons live around me.

Curtis Enis used to always want to hang out with me. He used to come into the gas station I worked at at the time and just hang out for hours. I had no idea who he was until he told me - nice guy.

I met Bobby Hull in a bar once, I talked hockey with him for a few minutes and bought him whatever he was drinking.

Richard Marx is my dads client and his son DJ's my house parties all the time. His grandfather Dick Marx is responsible for "here come the Hawks" the Blackhawks theme song.

Patrick Kane tried to screw my brothers girlfriend - my brother wanted to beat him down.

Patrick Kane. Yes, THE Patrick Kane. Didn't have any problems with him, though. He was pretty friendly. Chances are, if you go to a bar in Chicago or Buffalo, he's there.

I used to work for years at a night club that was frequented by NHL players. The nicest player by far was Naslund, always made time for his fans there. Laraque and Peckham are pretty nice also. Biggest jerk would have to be Lupul or Comrie.

ast year in Ottawa after the Leafs game I spent the night drinking with Rick Vaive and Gary Leeman. Phaneuf, Lupul, Army and Riemer were there as well, but not at our table. Viave is a great guy from what I remember, and both of them were great ladies men, fun to have former NHL players as wingmen,

Saw Tootoo at a strip club once, he was kind of a dick. My friends and I were leaving just as he and his friends opened the door. His one friend let us go through, but Tootoo started beaking us and saying "What are we your f***ing doormen?" He was probably just wasted though.

Have seen Justin Schultz, Tyler Myers, Jamie Benn, Luke Schenn, Jarome Iginla, Dany Heatley, Trevor Linden, Mikeal Backlund at various bars or the casino in Kelowna over the years. Probably more people too I just can't remember right now.

Other than Tootoo all my experiences with NHL players have been cool.

Cam Jansen - Dumb goon who has pathetic game with the ladies. Edit... Oh and also a dick to strangers for no reason.

Odouya - No opinion, he was just laughing with Jansen

NBA related... I was there for the infamous Jason Kidd incident although I had no clue the guy dunking on the Chandler was Kidd.

Also seen TON's around Toronto. Subban has/had a place near City Place in TO, saw him and a few other guys at the Fox there a few times. With my job I spend a lot of time with sports stars (NBA, CFL, NHL and a lot from the music industry), so a lot of them blend in. Basketball players are some of the best. Matt Bonner, Tristan Thompson, Glen "Big Baby" Davis and Joel Anthony are some of my favorite. Have some great Big Baby and Joel Anthony stories.

Well I need to know what it is now...

EDIT: Not a player, but I met Pierre Mcguire outside of the Sabres area, First Niagra in October 2011. The Lightning were playing the Sabres there; I invited a friend, but he didn't have a jersey to wear (he's a Pens fan). So I let him borrow my Stamkos jersey while I wore my St. Louis jersey. After the game ended, we looked to get autographs from the players around the back, but only Pierre came out, with some other guy. He passed by the crowd unnoticed, but I said, "Hey Pierre." He turned to my friend and I and said, "Stamkos, good. St. Louis... ok," and walked on.

A buddy of mine met Bob Probert at Boston Pizza one night. He was sitting at the bar with some friends and in walks Probert with a few guys. He recognized him and introduced himself. Shook Bob's hand and made small talk. Said he was a nice guy, even bought them a round. Also told me that Probert had some of the biggest mitts he's ever seen. It was like shaking hands with a bear, and my buddy is not a small man at a good 6'4" and weighing over 200+ lbs. himself.

Forgot about the time I met some of the sabres prospects at Encore in the summer right after they had finished the dev camp. They were all in town getting ready to head back to wherever they stay in the summer and the ones i recognized were McNabb, Foligno, Brennan, and Girgensons. Girgs was bombed could barely keep his head up lol. Kid I skate with is a former sabres son and turns out that marcus is his cousin as well. Super nice dude went out of his way to come and say hi and just overall really nice.
