They might have seen the odd shift there but they are not listed as playing that position on any official listing. As in the case of a Red Kelly type, everyone knows he played two positions. Plus he is always listed as a C or a D. Just something to think about.
Correct he would play RW when on the Russian 5 with Larionov and Kozlov, it was one of the top lines in the league and I dare say it didn't hurt him. He also saw time during several stretches under Bowman as D but obviously he wasn't the same player.

I think we all should be able to put players where we want, but don't expect others to think that the guy will be as effective there!

Team Canada at the '98 Olympics was loaded with great centre ice men. There were lines with centres playing both wings. Canada got smoked in that Olympics and the lack of role players was cited as a reason. In 2002, Gretzky ensured there were enough wingers, among other aspects.
Thats a good point too. What happened in the other drafts? Has it even been discussed?

So was the recent Canada WJC team, which was been described as the best ever. Dawes, Stewart, Perry, and Ladd were the only natural wingers of the 13 forwards.

No kidding, I had to get into the act or get left out in the cold. I can't believe some of the guys picked over Langway though.

Just Murphy and Niedermayer. Besides them I'd take all the rest of the blueliners already selected before Langway. Good pick though.

Defensemen are definetly going quickly, but it also means there are a lot of good forwards still available, especially Original 6 players. It looks like everyone is going for the more modern players this time around.

I was hoping that Langway would fall some more, but in the end it doesn't really make much of a difference as Neidermayer is a solid player in his own right.... but year oh well.

Monkey_00 offered me Geoffrion (5th rounder) for Doug Harvey (1st rounder)

Ahahaha, If I wanted Geoffrion more than Harvey, I'd of taken him.. Or in the 2nd round... or the 3rd... and you'd think if I wanted Geoffrion more than my 1st rounder, I'dve taken him in the 4th round..nope.

Please don't offer me another trade in the future.

PS: :lol

Clapper and Geoffrion are fairly close together I would say. Brodeur I would take above both. And well when it comes to Harvey it isn't even close... hell it isn't even in the same ballpark.... different zip codes....

Yeah Langway is awesome, he's too defensive though to fill the roster spot on my concept team that I needed...

When I PMed him I saw that his last activity was on 3/18. I hope that he's OK and can get his pick in.
