With all the world-class defencemen being picked in the 3rd Round, the Ottawa Silver Seven were desperate to trade up just 3 spots so they could claim the final top defenceman on their list to pair up with Doug Harvey.

From Simcoe, Ontario, the Ottawa Silver Seven are very please to announce defenceman Leonard 'Red' Kelly as their 3rd round pick.

Well it wasn't so much that he wasn't physical (which he wasn't) but he was then placed on a line with absolutely no physical player, and that is a problem when you are trying to build a line, there should be someone out there to create room, and to allow Jagr to make the great moves that he did make.

If you changed the lines around a bit, that would have had a huge effect, but that is what I was trying to get at when I ranked your team.

I'm here, sorry, my internet is disconnected for a while, but here it is....

The Seattle Metropolitans select, my personal favourite all time player, RW Jari Kurri.

Many believe his success only came from Gretzky, to that I say, I have Beliveau anyway , I couldn't pass up an opportunity to grab a 70 goal man, one of the greatest snipers of all time and a brilliant two way player, by far the best Finn ever IMO.

The Hamilton Tigers are now ready to make their 3rd selection in this draft......we are picking our second Goalie with our third pick....together with the first Goalie that I've already selected in this draft; Dominic Hasek, this should guarantee that I have the best 1-2-PUNCH in our League for Goaltending tandems...........from Moscow Russia.....#20:

The Philadelphia Flyers will bolster their defense by selecting perhaps the best defenseman to never win the Norris Trophy:

Brad Park
5 time 1st team all-star
2 time 2nd team all-star

Oh, hell with it. Who needs offense? I like 0-0 ties.

All your franchise defensemen belong to Evil Sather.

The Rangers select D Borje Salming.

'73-75: two Cups, two Conn Smythes two Vezinas and two first team all stars. Has the all time record of 47 wins in a season somehting that Roy, Brodeur or Sawchuk never had. 12 shutouts each year. 1.89 GAA in '73-74 (dazzling then). And all that while killing penalty after penalty incurred by a Flyers team which always had someone in the box.

It can be said that just as Hasek gave the Sabres forwards freedom to agrressively forecheck, Parent gave the bad-boy Flyers free licence to take penalties.

And, in 1999, the Canadian Hockey League honoured Parent as the greatest goaltender in major junior history.

Bernie Parent is welcomed to Victoria by his old teammate, Aristocrat alternate captain Bobby Clarke: "Parent is the best player in hockey - period"
