The Seattle Metropolitans are proud to select an oldtimer, who played well into the expansion era however, another classy player, an anchor for the defense D Tim Horton

Mmmmm. I'm teaching English in South Korea. I'd invade North Korea with long sharp pencils for some Timbits right now!

Its pretty stupid to hold up the draft just because you want to trade your pick. If you really wanted to trade it that bad then maybe you should trade it before your pick is up!

Whats the point of posting who is next, on deck, double deck and clean up? If you want to know just check the first post. It isn't that hard to do.

Everybody has a right to use their time period to negotiate trades if they want to.

One can get more for a pick when the pick is up, if there's one player desired, like I wanted Clarke and moved up and traded to get him (we did it quickly though).

I suggest we have a 12 hour time limit instead of 24 hours, starting the beginning of the next round.

Sounds good?

And everyone should, after they pick, be PMing the next guy who is up to draft.

You tell him....heh heh heh......some guys were taking their sweet ass time to make picks........like last night I waited all night and morning for my next pick in the draft and Bluebleeder never showed up so I logged out and went to sleep at 4:30-am.....when I got up the next day I noticed that Bluebleeder made his pick "seconds" after I logged out.....it was as if the guy was waiting for me to log out just to piss me off eh............anyhow I figure why is it ok for some people to take their time and not ok for others like me?.......the way I see it we should just start out with the 12-hour time limit between picks starting in the next round.

St. Louis has MacInnis and Pronger. Big surprise. And a darn fine combo.

We should start calling Bluebleeder Blueliner.

A 12 hour limit wouldn't speed up the draft much, and would only lead to more skipped picks.

Well, can hardly pass on one of the most complete players to ever play, and one of the very first powerforwards.

Hartford takes C Milt Schmidt

The Kansas City Scouts are pleased to add an inspirational leader, and all-around player in

Syl Apps Sr.

Perhaps never has a finer man played in the NHL than Syl Apps. A remarkably skilled hockey player, he was big and strong and possessed one of the best shots in the league. He never drank or smoked, never swore and was as loyal to his boss, Conn Smythe, as to his team, the Toronto Maple Leafs. - HHoF Bio

A remarkably skilled hockey player, he was big and strong and possessed one of the best shots in the league. He moved with a speed and grace that earned him the nickname “Nijinsky of the Ice”. He was an inspirational leader, who despite delaying his career to compete in the pole vault at the 36 Olympics, losing two years to service in WWII, and retiring at the age of 33 after finishing 8th in league scoring, captained the Leafs to 3 Stanley Cups. He was the consummate team man who always thought of his teammates first and preferred to avoid any personal glory. - BM67, All-X2 Draft

Well, I was looking for Jari Kurri with this pick but since he's gone I will still take one of the most prolific goalscorers in hockey history to fill the wing position alongside Perreault. I realise this man is classified as a rover but we'll be placing him at right wing.

He was the greatest hockey player in the world for the first quarter of the 20th century. He won two Art Ross trophies and once potted 29 goals in a 9 game season. He once scored 9 goals in one game. He totalled 534 points in only 338 games and over 400 of those points were goals.

One of the truly great athletes in history...

Ding, ding, ding... Pick of the week! This is what the history draft is about! Good call.

If the hockey gods played a season with our emerging line-ups (with appropriate modern conditioning for those from the distant past) it'd be interesting indeed.
