Well, for the middle class players on the team the news is reported faster. For the best players on the team like EJ, Duchene etc... they wait for few days to report the bad news, like they did with Landeskog.

Probably just mad he had to leave the game. I don't think he was thinking about long term.

Maybe, but that's an awfully harsh reaction for just having to leave the game, especially from a guy like EJ. That's usually what you see when a player knows they're done for the season or something.

Well, I don't know about that, he was probably just mad knowing he couldn't keep playing.

You definitely can't question that kid's toughness, that's for sure.

Yea I highly doubt it would be concussion related if EJ lost it like that on the bench. My guess is something with the Jaw.

I don't think it will be to serious, maybe a couple games.

Im more disappointed in the fact that we didn't get to see EJ return last night. Can you imagine him playing with all that fire and anger in side of him. Would have been a train off the tracks.

I hate the public relations of this team so much. Can we get a ***damn update on EJ? The only word we have on what he injured, was speculation yesterday from Chambers about it being a shoulder or chest.

They didn't even bother to make the usual, upper body injury, and he'll be re-evaluated comment. Can they just show a sliver of interest in the fans that keep them in business, and throw them some info every once in a while. The CIA doesn't run things this close to the vest.

Its Pierre Lacroix dinosaur way. This organizations mentality is stuck in the 80's.

BTW, here's a little refresher on our injury luck the last few years. These are the man games lost stats.

2009-10 - 2nd most (340 at end of season)
2010-11 - 2nd most (385 in march)
2011-12 - 18th most (174 in feb)
2012-13 - ?

It's entirely possible today is a day off. The CBA requires them to take a certain amount of days off per month now. Chambers and Moser usually post something on twitter when they're headed to practice.

I've noticed that injury reports are usually very vague or non-existent for a few days when concussions are involved, I'm assuming because they are more difficult to quantify at first. Hopefully it's not being reported because it's a day off for the team, but if that's not the case it's probably bad news.

Does the team need a day off today? They had 4 days without games just before last night's game. Wouldn't it have made more sense to take a mandatory day off during that time?

They did. I'm pretty sure that they took Thursday off.

That may play a factor in making Chambers and Dater go out of their way to get info from the Avs, rather than letting it come to them at practice, but I'm sure the team did a checkup on EJ either way. They haven't said anything about it since he walked off the ice in a rage.

Just wish the team didn't leave their fans in the dark on basically everything. This organization must take it's fans for granted more than any other sports franchise. They just don't appear to care whatsoever.

Chambers posted an article saying Avs didn't practice, so no official updates until tomorrow.

I get what you're saying, but the way I look at it is they don't need to have a practice to make a comment on EJ. Any kind of comment, whether it's specific or not.

My question is did Dater or Chambers pick up the phone and say, "Hey, Jean Martineau, do you have an update on EJ, the fans would really like to know?" and did the Avs give them an answer. The answer to both of those questions should be an easy yes IMO.

That's too much work for Chambers and Dater.

Wait, we're suddenly accusing Dater and Chambers for being lazy when Martineau hasn't spoken to the press since announcing Peter Forsberg would miss the remained of the 01-02 season?

It's usually the coaches who talk about the injuries. They didn't have an update on the injury right after the game and Sacco doesn't speak to the media until tomorrow so it's not surprising there's no info right now.

Maybe getting hit to the head killed Johnson's brain which put him in that "zombie mode" some posters here talk about. It would explain the rage down the tunnel.

Perhaps there is no update because he is still rampaging and at large.

That makes no sense, the Avs weren't in Michigan last night.
