But Canucks fans never want to give anything of value, like Kassian or Jensen.
You're confusing two different scenarios. Canuck fans don't want to give anything of value (Kassian, Jensen) for a player like Brouwer or Stalberg, and who would? If someone from that first tier was available, it's obvious one or both would be involved.
Either way, Kesler and Booth aren't out so long that its worth picking up a 2nd/3rd line tweener as a stop gap as you suggested. If we're adding a top 6 option we want them to be good enough to stay there when Kesler and Booth come back, not get pushed down to the 3rd and 4th line.
That's why I asked and didn't originally propose it.
everyone just says overpayment, well whats this overpayment?
I'm curious as a Canucks fan if i could live with that over payment.
I asked what the Canes need
in typical HF fashion, "NOPE NEVER EVER EVER!!!11!!!"
It's not NHL13. The problem is you are asking what they "need" but in the process, taking away something that they will then need even more if Skinner is traded. Skinner and E. Staal have accounted for almost 70% of the teams goals this season. But I'll play along. IF the Canes trade Skinner, the overpayment would be a young (under 24) 30 goal scorer who is locked up for 5+ years and a top 3 defenseman.
EDIT: and even then I doubt Rutherford would even consider it.
