Side note - does is bother anyone else that other players around the league wear #4? I mean there is no way anyone would have dared worn #99 even when he was playing. Since Orr and Gretzky are often mentioned in the same breath, I just find it odd that players like Taylor Hall have no problem wearing #4.
I can't believe how quickly he's learned the system and is adapting to pro hockey. I didn't think he'd look this good and be this comfortable until the start of next season. Truly amazing.

Yes it does.

He is paying homage to Orr, who's also his agent. Pretty sure Hall ask if it was ok.
i have to be honest, i am really impress and i never thought Hamilton could be that good so early !!!
he already play a star level !!!
i LOVE seguin but i now think , in future people will say about the kessel trade
"bruins got HAMILTON AND Seguin"
i also hate the players comparaison but i see a kind of PRONGER
less dirty with more offense !
Hamilton adds the one element the defense is missing and it aint size. Put me down for extremely impressed so far. Its fun to watch him with Chara, but all things considered he works well with Seidenberg, and Manchuk mixup last night aside on first goal goes well with Chara.
Reminds me of Doughty when he went up to the NHL straight from the OHL.
Folks here always knew he was good, but how good he was in the NHL right off the bat surprised most everyone.
Sometimes, a player gets into an element they are most comfortable with and excel more at the higher levels. I think this to be the case with Hamilton.
I'm as pumped as anyone. He has been way better than I expected but let's not start some kindof delusional Jake-Gardiner-lovefest.
I was really disappointed by the way he and some of the other "NHL READY" players played during the World Junior Championship, thinking at the time that really none of them had a shot this year sticking with the big club. But seeing how Hamilton and a few others are playing in their initial games, it's evident that the problem with the Canadian team this year was coaching. I know excuse, but I'm a big Hamilton fan, love my my Toronto boys, Sanguin, ok, GTA.. Go Bruins.

Dare I say one could argue Jean Beliveau has a legit gripe about #4

It doesn't bother me that Orr's number isn't retired, but it does annoy me that Gretzky's is. Nobody other than Jackie Robinson should have had his number retired by a league, because what he did went beyond the game.
Hamilton has beyond impressed me so far. To the point that he is the only defenseman I have confidence on the PP at all. Is it just me or is he already miles ahead of Kaberle + Corvo combined?
Well according to Leafs fans,Hamilton is seriously slow, needs to work on his skating, and is playing sheltered minutes.
Pure gold.
Yep, lol:

Dougie Hamilton is seriously slow for an OFD. His skating needs some major work.

He'll be a good player, but he is overrated as ****.
I don't see him as a top-pairing D-man. He's just... good... in all areas.
Quote:
He reminds me of Brent Burns.
Decent defenseman but he's no where near as smart as Pietrangelo.
I can't believe people compare him to A Pie. There is no way he'll be that good.
These boards sure do overhype prospects.
Though not pleased with the Bruins fans going over there the "correct" them.. Don't stoop to their level fellas. That's what we get on them for when they come over here whenever we utter their team name
