Goal totals are identical over the past three seasons. The age is the equaliser. What Evander Kane lacks is the physicality that Milan Lucic possesses
Look at the quality of the teams around them. The goalscoring prime of players is fairly young, so you would expect Kane to have more years of his peak ahead than Lucic. Lucic brings a ton to the table, but Kane is worth more.

I don't think Kane lacks physicality at all compared to Lucic. Kane had 173 hits last year while Lucic had 201. Very close considering Lucic played 8 more games.
Value wise, Boston would need to add a prospect or a 1st round pick to even the value, but the Jets would probably ask for an overpayment. Either way, there is no deal to be had here. Winnipeg would not trade away Kane.

Yeah no way that a first rounder gets included how about both teams just keep their players

There's no way Evander Kane is worth Lucic and a first. And it's not the point the amount of hits, it's the fact that there are many players that fear him on the ice. I don't see Evander Kane doing that.
I'd value Kane more. He's already better offensively and his upside far outweighs Lucic. Looch has the intimidation factor going for him, but it's not enough to swing the balance in his favour.

Matt Cooke says hello. Not many people will drop the gloves with Evander.
And yes, a 1st round pick is the bridge gap (considering it is going to be a bottom 10 pick). Kane is younger, has a better contract, and has the potential to be an elite scorer in the league. Lucic is a proven consistent Power Forward, but does not have elite offensive skills or the speed of Kane. Just because Lucic is more of a goon than him doesn't mean it outweighs Kane's upside.

Fighting is not what I meant. They both drop the gloves, I'm talking about being a physical force out there. But I get ya Alright time for an edit.
We are just trying to gauge an estimated value of players and getting the opinions of others about our respective lineups. what's wrong with that?
I didn't say there was anything wrong with it. I said "how about they each keep their players" which I thought implied they are very similar in value, no?...

Or something like that.
ahhh, I got ya. Sorry. Running on fumes here watching NHL Tonight over and over again..

A first is just way too much though...
Well, Lucic does have a size advantage so I guess I can see where you are coming from. I just think personally, not to dismiss Lucic's skills, that Kane has a better toolbox than Lucic.
A 1st round pick would be too high if it was in the top 10-15, but considering Boston is a Stanely Cup contender, Boston's 1st round pick has significantly less value.
Boston wouldn't do this regardless of percieved value to other people, Lucic means more to the team than Kane would. If there were a lot of players in the league like Lucic and he could be replaced easily it might be different but it isn't that way.
