Devils on the road tomorrow, not a good sign at all. No way this team can beat even a Parise less Devils team playing like this. Brodeur could be asleep and get a shutout at this rate.
This is what the team looked like right before Bruce was fired. He had lost the team and they had stopped playing for him. Now I'm not saying Oates has somehow 'lost' the team, I mean the guy is just getting started as the head coach, but they are not playing for him right now.
Tom Poti was on the radio yesterday saying how guys told him they weren't a fan of Hunter 'coz Hunter never talked to anyone. Perhaps this team needs a coach who they don't like. Hunter certainly managed to get them to play hard, even if they supposedly didn't like him.
There is more going on with this team than just learning a new system. They are completely out of sorts. They aren't mentally in it. Not sure how to get that changed. Oates has a huge undertaking in front of him for this season.
You guys all know that nothing is gonna happen with changes/trades or anything except them putting Eric Fehr in tomorrow and saying were hoping he can give us the spark we need.
I typed out this long response, but whats the point.
We suck. I don't know where they can go from here. Maybe trade a few more skill players for the "right" kind of players like chimera, crabb and hendricks.
It doesn't make any sense, they were all hyped about the new system when they heard Oates was in but they play like they don't care? Doesn't add up i'm afraid
Probably the worst game in the past couple years I've seen from these Capitals. Just down right disgusting. I don't get it. Guys like no skating...Ovechkin looking like a regular bum. JUst shocking..who stole thier dog?
Can you guys remember how strong and determined we were in the playoffs last year on the PK. It was like we hadn't even lost a man at times we were that good.
Now teams just toy with us on the PK and we do the opposite when we are on the PP

Perhaps Hunter was onto something? Nahhh, he didn't let us score empty net goals. Obviously not.
After three games, Caps goal scorers this season:
Joel Ward - 2
Troy Brouwer - 1
Joe Crabb - 1
Matt Hendricks - 1
Wolski -1
I didn't see Crabb's goal, but I'm gonna take a wild ****ing guess that it was from <10 feet from the net.
There's your answer. Our winger group aside from Ovechkin has the collective finishing ability of Tomas Holmstrom. Unfortunately that's all of Holmstrom's that they have.
