He never was. He´s been living off his reputation for his stellar over-achievement in a short span in the 2010 playoffs. He plays on the first pairing for one of the worst teams in the NHL who are not particulary strong in their defensive corps.
I hate to say it, but this all reminds me a lot of Tim Tebow, who made waves with a great initial splash, but as time passed it was realised he´s really not ¨all that good¨.
He IS good. Very good. He´d be the best number 3 in the league on a team with talent superior than that of the team he´s currently playing for.
