Honestly, let's stop with the selling crap. Let's have the best team that we can. The Jays are not as good without Buerhle. People have this obssession with selling and drafting high. Oh no, the Jays are actually contenders this year, let's make a couple of trades that set them back again so that they can draft as high as possible instead of going for it. They are too good.

Sorry, that's the kind of vibe I am getting from you.

Yeh, don't want to "ruin" the possibility of a good draft pick and prospects by possibly making the playoffs. It's all about restocking the prospect pool, didn't you know?

Aaron Hill signs for 3 yrs/35mil extension. Good for him! I've always knew he could bounce back, but just too bad not with the Jays.

Can't be upset that he was able to turn his game back around. Good for him

well then your very wrong on Woodman and how he feels about the team. He has good reason to want to move Buerhle if possible.

Because he may get injured, or the fact that his "home" is in St. Louis because it his allows his dogs those are the only points I'm seeing

Yeah there's seriously no reason to move Buehrle, unless you're getting a pitcher who you expect to provide similar or better numbers in return.

The Jays need to win this year. If we're looking for sustainable success or whatever its called for this franchise, the way to do it is to make the playoffs this year. Saving some salary down the road or getting a couple decent prospects is going to mean crap-all if this team doesn't make the playoffs this year and ST sales drop. Ownership needs to see ROI, and that comes from playoff revenue.

He could be suggesting to move him to avoid a potentially volatile situation.

That being said, I think he'll be a pro and show up to work every day dog or no dog.

I like the signing. I wanted us to do it straight from the get go. Melky's 28, reaching his prime years, and seems like he has had a solid bat throughout his career. I don't think using test boosters is the only reason your going to increase your BA to 346. You have to have some skill. Not to mention we signed him for pretty cheap on a two year deal.

Yep trading Buerhle right now makes no sense unless were replacing him with just as good of a pitcher and thats not JA Happ.

Anyways really cool quote from Jim Leyland

""Toronto probably was the big boy in the off-season as far as the moves they made," the Detroit Tigers manager said. "That's going to be just one heck of a division, obviously. Toronto, they actually were my sleeper team last year until they had all those injuries to the pitching staff."

Alot of owners/managers/players recognized the jays as a sleeper the last 1-2 years. Now...not so much. Lots of expectations, but I'm not going to miss the "underdog" mentality one bit. Time to win baby.

So Vegas puts the jays as the World Series favourite at 7-1 odds.

After getting RA we were pegged at 7-1 or 8-1, never 5-1.
I think we've been AL East favourites ever since getting RA as well.

Aaron Hill would be the perfect compliment to this team hitting behind Encarnacion in the 5 hole.

Most people will tell you Murphy... Whatever the reason he just wasn't hitting at all and management wanted a change. Personally I never wanted him gone he was always my favourite player.

LOL the poll on TSN makes no sense.

The question is:

Does Ricky Romero deserve to be the Jays 5th starter?

YES - he wasn't good enough in 2012

NO - he deserves better as a one-time ace.

LIKE WTF lol.

I had the opposite reaction. Caught myself about to laugh, then just felt sad.

Can't remember if I joined this one last year. I usually have 1 keeper team, plus 2 others every year. None the less, I joined.

Edit: Tried to, got this message. "There is not room in this league if all teams from last year return." I guess I wasn't hah.
