Not too familiar with their depth chart - but I can't assume they wouldn't want some kind of offense coming the other way, as well.
Tedenby?

Yayo has the third line centre spot locked down, and Zajac has the top line, so unless Loktionov would be going to the bottom 6, wouldn't Elias have to move to wing too? Would be interesting to have four guys capable of playing centre in our top 6 too.

I can't believe I'm saying this but David Clarkson is carrying our offense on his back this season.
I say we ride the hot stick as long as possible. Clarkson can do no wrong right now.

Yes, but he wouldn't come cheap. The Avs aren't desperate to trade him by any means.

I think Landeskog is day-to-day for now, but who knows with a concussion. Downie is out for the year I think. I expect O'Reilly is signed and back within a couple of weeks.

Thoughts on Mikael Backlund? He's off to a decent start this year but he's still not getting much ice time. Wonder if Calgary would move him.

Calgary has a lot of $$ tied up in 'meh' defensemen >> http://capgeek.com/flames

Don't think we make the best trade partners.

Was very promising back in the day, got in Sutter`s doghouse, was moved up and down the lineup a couple of times. What does this remind you of?

Manila has a point.

Anxious to see who fills in the holes. I've secretly been pulling for Winnipeg to lose because I really want Poni back. Both sides expressed mutual interest before Parise happened.
I'd love to see us acquire both Poni and Antropov if they fall out of the playoff race. I don't know how much both would cost, but if we could pull that off, it would fix both of our problems:

Henrique-Zajac-Kovalchuk
Zubrus-Elias-Clarkson
Ponikarovski-Josefson-Antropov
Carter-Gionta-Bernier

Yes but Jay Feaster is an awful GM.

Trading for Poni makes me sad considering we could have just re upped him without shedding assets

I stand corrected.

Say what you want about the Kovalchuk trade... PL3 for a 5th is one of Lou's biggest heists as a GM.

Let's compile a list and have a poll here.

PL3 for a 5th.
Janssen for Salvador
Kovalchuk trade

any other notables?

One of my favorites. Sean Burke to Hartford for 2nd round pick, and Bobby Holik. Then again this was no heist. Just one of our best trades. Someone else went with Burke too, but I forgot. Jay Pandolfo became that second round pick.

Jason Arnott and Randy McKay to Dallas for Jamie Langenbrunner and Joe Nieuwendyk. Arnott was better than Langenbrunner, but it wasn't a night and day difference. However McKay was a good example of a player we cut ties with at the right time. Dallas pretty much just got Arnott though cause McKay was slated to be a UFA. Nieuwendyk was not until the next year. I'm not sure if a pick was involved anywhere. McKay, and Nieuwendyk were the same age, but there was a night and day difference by this time.

Ya, I keep expecting it to end, but Clarkson must have the best puck luck in the league. He has pucks literally bounce off his ass into the net sometimes.

It's only a heist if the fifth turns into somebody good. Otherwise it's just garbage in, garbage out, and who cares about that? Who did we pick with it anyway?

That wasn't exactly the most serious comment in the world, but it was Graham Black.

Probably helps that I continuously noted it as the "PL3 disposal pick" to myself all throughout the draft

I mentioned it earlier, but I never mentioned what we would give up.

Would you guys be fine with Tallinder+prospect+pick for Antropov AND Ponikarovski?

Not sure what the Jets need, but the pick depends on the prospect and their needs, if we can even fulfill them.

Apologies, my sarcasm detector is off tonight, I normally pick up on yours.

And I suppose I stand corrected, Black could very well turn into something special. If you listen to Jerry, he's the second coming of Gretzky and Jesus all in one.

In a heartbeat. That would solidify our 3rd line and really turn it into a strength.

The only concern I have about that, is that they are pretty much destined to be rentals. If we resign both, then we leave absolutely no room for a young guy to step in next year.

I'd really like to see how a Ponikarovski-Josefson-Antropov line would look.

Isn't Antropov a center? But imagine a Zubrus-Antropov-Poni line.
