Horcoff vs Gagner

[I am the Liquor]

Ive come up with a little game/challenge. It works like this. Add the player's point totals to their +/- rating, and see who comes out ahead at the end of the regular season. Right now for instance, Horcoff has 0pts and is even, so he is at 0. Gagner has 2pts, but is -4, so he is -2. Choose who you think will finish ahead at the end of the season.

If Horcoff wins, all those who chose Gagner, will sport Horcoff avatars for one month. If Gagner wins, all those who chose Horcoff will sport Gagner avatars for one month.

For reference, last year Gagner won by a landslide, the year before that, Horcoff won by one.

Nothing. Same with injury. All games are counted. However many and for whomever they are.

Nah, but like blocked shots, faceoff %, hits etc.

I voted for Gagner, but +/- is one of the worst stats in hockey for actually meaning anythin.

But hey, this is a free little game, so I'll play.

yeah I'm in. Even if Gagner was -25 and Horcoff was even I don't see Horcoff having enough points to beat him.

• +/- Per 60 Min: -0.45

Shawn Horcoff

• Points Per 60 Min: 1.90
• +/- Per 60 Min: -0.20

Combined difference (as equal weight is given to points and +/-): 0.017
Minor Edge: Gagner

2011-12 Season

Sam Gagner

• Points Per 60 Min: 2.19
• +/- Per 60 Min: 0.23

Shawn Horcoff

• Points Per 60 Min: 1.29
• +/- Per 60 Min: -0.87

Combined difference (as equal weight is given to points and +/-): 2.01
Big Edge: Gagner

TL;DR: Based off career numbers, for every 60 min of ice time each player plays Gagner is expected to edge out Horcoff in (Points + Plus-minus) by 0.017. Based off 2011 numbers, Gagner is expected to edge out Horcoff by 2.01.
