Lifetime Ranger(s)
Okay, just to mix things up a bit:
1.) Out of our homegrown NYR, who is most likely to be a lifelong Ranger on our current roster?
2.) In the history of the NYR, who do you think should've spent their careers with the team (other than Leetch, who I think is too obvious a choice)? Obviously, they had to start their careers with the NYR
3.) The next number retired to the rafters will be: _______
My 3 answers:
Lundqvist
Dave Maloney (only one year not with the NYR, "C", still with the organization)
Lundqvist

I would love to see G spend his whole career here. He was never drafted. Came up through the Wolfpack, earning his chances the whole way, earning a shot with the big club, stuck, evolved into an all-star and is now a core piece and total warrior. I admire Girardi more than any other player on our team. I see the mistakes he makes. I see him struggle to clear the zone or look a little brain dead sometimes. But the way he just blocks shot after shot and keeps coming back for more, never missing a shift, getting stitched up on the fly. Guy is tough as nails.

Yeah, #2 is a tough choice Ratelle, either Maloney, Amonte, Weight, Giacomin, Kovalev, Zubov...
Girardi is good choice for #1, too. Didn't even think of him. Great choice.

He wasn't drafted by us, but he never played for MTL.

Wanted to put Lundqvist for #1 too, but for him to get his number retired I'm sure we won't be losing him any time soon.

Hank is the only lock IMO. And Ratelle should have been retired along time ago, ive had this discussion on threads a million times..he is top 5 in every rangers offensive category. if it wasnt for injuries they would have won the cup with him there...he should have never been traded

30 AND 35. We'll never see another normal goalie number again.
