Philly/St. Louis

Philly: Stewart, Cole
St. Louis: Read, Laughton, 2nd 2013

Simmonds and Stewart are best friends. I know it has little to do with trades, but with Hartnell out Philly will need size in their line up.

Just a proposal, not a big fan of either team. Feedback is appreciated, flaming not so much.

Why would the Blues do this? This does not improve the Blues roster. The Blues are in compete now mode so any trade that does not make the Blues a better team on the ice now is a bad deal for the Blues.

Literally, the second-to-last thing the Flyers should do (with the first being trading one of our few good/not injured defensemen) is to trade inexpensive/ELC forwards who are playing well.

A good rule of thumb: If you're wanting a Blues player and your proposed return includes a player + a draft pick, it's not going to go over well.

Why on earth would St. Louis do this?

Yeah, I can't see St. Louis rocking the boat.

Yea, I don't see this happening. St. Louis is getting hosed, but Philly is getting hosed capwise. Can't really afford to give up two ELC solid players. I'd say both teams pass on this one.

Personally, I love how you sneak Cole in there, like he is some kind of a throw in.

The Blues are winning, in win now mode, and deep at the wing position. They have solid depth in the prospect pool. Down grading from Stewart to Read makes no sense for St. Louis. Trading Cole, who is playing very well paired with Pie makes even less sense - and would leave a big hole on the backend.

Adding a 2nd doesn't make it even.

You want feedback, I want you to tell me how this helps the Blues. you clearly are looking at it from the Phili side of things, despite not being a fan of either team.

This didn't really go over well a few days ago.
