This game has Red Bulls 1-0 loss written all over it.

If Hamid can play like that every game, he'd be the best GK in MLS.

... what a disappointing result for RBNY though, complete domination on their part.

Agreed. Central American leagues don't make a lot of money. So the first step for Salvadoran/Guatemalan/Costa Rican players to big time is the MLS. They're not gonna get spots in Mexico since Mexican players will get their shots first.

****. Nyrb dominated that game. At the end there I was begging for a Lloyd Sam substitution around the 80th minute or so. I thought that he would've stretched the field and really opened it up so that we could put the final nail in the coffin. Gotta get three points against Montreal next weekend.

I'm happy for MTL fans....just kinda not a fan of teams that import a bunch of over the hill players (the Italians) and play them over young guys (Wenger) and it works. Because more teams will start moving this way.

Not that I don't like Nesta....especially if he is not on a DP contract...

What is it with Italian players and Montreal, though? I know Luongo's parents are from Italy. Is it easy for Italians to learn French fast?

I understand but MTL is a Win Now city... The encouraging sign is the Impact has already promoted four players (Ouimette, Tissot, Lefebvre and Crepeau) from their academy and there's a fifth really close to get the call (Messoudi). I think they also wanted these old guys with a lot of experience to bring some expertise to the club. I think it's great for kids like Ouimette and Tissot to train with Nesta, Ferrari and Rivas. They'll learn a lot. We're still building football here so we have to be patient.

Chivas USA is my second team now after all the crap the MLS media is giving them They earned a 1:1 draw with 10 men against the Galaxy, 4 points in 3 matches not bad for them

Furthermore, consider that these older players might have a desire to go into coaching. Nowhere is their expertise going to be more in-demand over the next decade than the US and Canada, where the professional game is really starting to take off.

Rather than throw their academy players into the fire like a certain club adorned in red to the west, Montreal eases them in, integrates them with the veterans over extended periods of time, and lets them develop into impact players (no pun intended) under less pressure to perform. It's hard to find fault with that, especially considering Vancouver is doing more or less the same thing, and LA has won back-to-back championships under that thought process.
