Did you sit near any supporter sections? LA Riot Squad or Angel City Brigade? I don't understand how they yell the entire match. Kudos to them.

Urruti to TFC is dead due to Newell's manager refusing to release the player.

Quote:
Then last week Nelsen admitted that the move had hit a snag after Newell’s Old Boys manager Gerardo Martino put his foot down and made it known to the club’s owners that he did not want to release Urruti. At the time, Nelsen admitted that TFC was losing patience and might have to soon move on.

Kevin Davies ain't coming either as his deal falls apart also.

Some fairly substantial developments on the expansion front.

Quote:
Kurtis Larson @KurtLarSUN
Garber tells Toronto media he's hopeful to announce MLS expansion side in 4-6 weeks. Did say progress in New York, but wasn't specific.

I'm told that Manchester City is once again in the lead to take hold of MLS' 20th franchise and bring it to Queens

The '4-6 weeks' timeline fits in to about the same time when Man City plays Chelsea at Yankee Stadium.

Yeah, and apparently MLS has trademarked 'New York City FC', so I'd assume that'd be the name.

No sadly, I was up on the upper deck at Home Depot Center, but yeah my dad and I had no idea how they kept going for the whole 90. Their pretty hardcore!

They're in the NASL. Plus I'm pretty sure they won't be willing to pay a $100M expansion fee like Man City's owners would be.

It's 100M now ????

I thought for sure the team would be the cosmos... What's the point of having 2 NY teams now ?

That's something I've never understood about MLS; RBNY doesn't draw that well to begin with. What makes MLS think that they can make NYC2 work outside of Man City money?

The team is called the New York Red Bulls (Red Bulls, really?) and plays its games in Harrison, New Jersey. New York is not impressed.

Give a team a different name and stick them in, you know, New York, and I think it could work.

Well Red Bull does own the team. They own a few teams(across various sports) and they always slap their name on them.

Laba officially signs with TFC. Reports have him making around $1.3M.

I know the Tim Cahill talk in here happened a week or so ago but I just want to comment as an nyrb fan...

Let me just say that I did expect more goals from the guy than he has produced thus far. With that said, he will never EVER be regarded even half as badly as Rafa was/is here. He absolutely works his ass off at every position he has played at (ST, CAM, CDM, wide mid). They guy provides phenomenal leadership and is a consummate professional. If his tenure as a DP were to end tomorrow, it would be considered average to slightly below average but not necessarily a disappointment.

What a ridiculous decision. That's not even a foul, let alone a red.
