This isn't 2006. Ovechkin has more than enough talent to play with.

The switch from CCM to Bauer couldn't possibly be a coincidence.

Quick! go tell Ovechkin so he can score 65 goals again by switching his ****ing stick.

John Walton noting on the radio that tickets are still available for Sunday's game against Buffalo. Anyone know if the Caps sellout streak at home is still going.

I'm dead serious, shop Green to Philly and help our forwards out along with getting a starter return on defense.

Then just go straight up offense and plug the holes defensively for one season. This is the ONLY solution I can find with us not completely tanking.

I'll take ****ing Brayden Coburn at this point. Just someone do it already.

Not gonna deny what you're saying at all, but you don't think the regression is down to the team mates around him not pulling through, and not to mention the numerous coaching changes. Pitt have had the same coach and consistency for years, no way could Crosby and Malkin do a job any better than Ovi is/was doing in DC

You guys talking about the Bauer switch check Ovi's stats for 2010-11 - he didn't sign with Bauer til September 2011.

This has nothing to do with the brand of his stick/skates.

Ovi is doing more floating than I've seen in...forever. He's completely invisible, he hasn't even had those flashes like he's had before.

You do realize although the player doesn't make the equipment it can effect their game if they make a change, right?

If he got effed up in the Olympics, made a change and slumped, tried a whole new system, re-defined his gameplay, etc. it can effect him severely.

It's not even a 20% of his decision i'm just pointing out he completely changed everything. To win in the playoffs. Now we might not even make it.

His equipment is not cause for his slump but it shows how he tried to re-define himself in every way possible. Which has gone horribly, horribly, wrong.

We tried this already

It ended with us losing to the Habs in the 1st round...

If you can't build a solid team there's no point in going for broke. Just go and tank, especially with a loaded draft

Hard to feel sorry for him for that when his lack of respect for Bruce at the end was a big part in him getting fired. He had a pretty long run with Bruce and it was still trending downward.

So I've been thinking... maybe we should start Joe Hadeed instead of Carlson. Think of the positives...

1. With all thise bandages its clear that he was either A in a high traffic area at some point or B fighting. Both of which are a step in the right direction.
2. He'd actually play with his head up, in fear of being run over.
3. It would be hilarious to watch him get smoked.

I'm for it.

If the problem with this team was Ovechkin's stick we wouldn't be 0-3 and almost 0-4

I know it's just frustrating.

But I only mean plugging the wholes on defense for now and getting some long term pieces on forwards.

See my earlier post.

The downward spiral started the entire season before Ovechkin switched.

LOL Ovechkin switched up because of $$$$ - had nothing to do with him trying redefine himself.

Never said that, I used it as a weird example how he's completely re-defined his game.

Which hasn't worked at all.

The next time someone runs our goalie, lets have all 5 guys go over and face wash the guy.

The days of the line brawl are long gone but this team has been neutered anyways

Not sure why people are debating OV right now. When he started sucking. He is on a line with Beagle and Crabb. There is nothing left to talk about. Rock bottom has been reached.

Place him on a line with Eric Fehr and an AHL player and he'll get the point.
