Coachella 2013

I literally haven't stopped drooling for the past 20 minutes. I'm supposed to be embarking on a train journey in April...but plans may need to be reconsidered.

That was a lot of landfill indie. Looking back over the years I usually get amazed of the line ups, but this year was actually kinda standard.

This is basically my indie rock Woodstock right here.. While RHCP are arguably the "best" on the list, im most excited for The Postal Service. It's been a while since they went on "hiatus" and I can't wait to see them back on stage together!! Not sure if i'd like a new album though, even though the chances are minimal.

Blur! Also like Metric, Sigur Ros, Franz Ferdinand nice to see them playing, and this Jake Bugg kid is awesome. He's a song-writer who has a hint of being manufactured around him but still I'd rather him get a no1 album than the usual crap in the UK now. I mean you just don't hear kids writing songs like this nowadays.

Good chance Daft Punk makes a surprise appearance with Phoenix since their new album is coming in March.

It was false rumours that claimed a 13/13/13 release for Daft Punk's new album.

The Friday show looks great, the rest of lineup is a bit underwhelming.

Shocked to see The Stone Roses on here. If that isn't part of a bigger USA tour I will absolutely have to get there.

Friday and Saturday are intense, especially Friday. Sunday is pretty bleh outside of a couple names...but Grimes would be near the top of my watch list.

Sorry there's not enough Nicki Minaj on there, nogger.

She'd definately make it more enjoyable.

Outside of a few indie bands (most of which you could see for under 10 bucks at a local bar), it isn't worth shelling out any coin for.

Yeah it's a pretty lame line-up. Saturday looks alright and Friday just because of Bassnectar.

Many names I like here;

Friday: Luciano, Four Tet, DJ Harvey and Seth Troxler

Saturday: Simian Mobile Disco, Richie Hawtin, Booka Shade and Cassy.

Sunday: Eric Prydz, James Blake, Paul Kalkbrenner, Loco Dice, Jamie Jones, Disclosure, Julio Bashmore, Maya Jane Coles and Joris Voorn.

However, I do not like the concept of house and techno at festivals. Way too short sets. Club gigs are ten times better.

I think Primavera Sound made a bigger splash with their lineup. Pretty much every good artist at Coachella is playing Primavera and then some.

there's probably a handful of bands I'd consider seeing each day, and most are headliners or older acts.

The rest of them, I could take it or leave it.

Overall rating for the lineup: a C-

Danny Brown is cool. I don't mind Grizzly Bear and Phoenix. Lumineers are alright. Meh.

Another fellow Jake Bugg fan! This kid is special. I wish he would perform at the Grammy's, I feel like that's the surest way to gain a large North American audience.

That lineup looks great, IMO. Lots of stuff that I would love to see.
