Went with Johnston. Seen Mangene twice and Johnston once. Johnston impressed me more.

EDIT: Don't want to make it sound like Mangene isnt good, I just liked what I saw from Johnston more in the one game. Their both fast (Mangene is faster though) but I think Johnston has better offensive skills.

These polls are always kind of lame. I voted Leier because he's going to be an NHL player. McGinn already is an NHL player and should be a regular for the next several years. The kid can flat out play. Loved how he chased down and caught Jordan Staal on a partial breakaway - boy that kid needs work on his skating.

1. C Scott Laughton... Overall stock has risen league-wide
2. C Nick Cousins... Having great year. Legal trouble is still looming.
3. D Brandon Manning... Stock has fallen, but has played better lately.
4. G Niko Hovinen... Terrible.
5. LW Marcel Noebels... Stock has risen.
6. D Shayne Gostisbehere... Huge leap into top 3, maybe top 2.
7. D Oliver Lauridsen... Slight drop, hasn't taken next step in developing.
8. C Jason Akeson... Stock drops. I don't see a future for him in the NHL.
9. G Anthony Stolarz... Stock has risen, and I expect to keep rising the more he plays in London.
10. C Ben Holmstrom... Probably a career AHL player.
11. D Valeri Vasiliev... No one has seen him play much, but apparently he is getting solid ice-time in the KHL, so his stock also rises.

Sorry guys. I wasn't expecting to open this all back up to more voting, I only brought this thread back from the dead to show how far off I (and basically everyone else) was on some of our rankings.

On a McGinn note though I see he was practicing on a line today with Giroux and Briere again.

i like it. personally i'm not sold on manning and i think vasiliev will end up being out second best d-men on that list but i understand why you placed him as low as you did.

honestly because russian are considered a risk by many. he probably should have gone 2nd or 3rd round. i think i read somewhere that he was ranked 16th amongst European skaters in Central Scouting's final rankings just before the draft.

Didn't he separate his shoulder? Not sure why I am thinking this, but think injury maybe?

Here we go. Knew he was hurt.

I think he also had some type of major injury not too long before the draft.

yeah, totally forgot about that. still that alone wouldn't of had him slip so much imo but it was def a significant factor.

I think the list is decent, except for Akeson. I don't see him ever being in the equation for sniffing the big club. Everyone else on that list at least has a chance down the road.

Went with Heeter. Read some good stuff about him. Haven't seen him play, though.
