Funny thing is... He's still as bad as last season when he "played on one leg". He's supposedly recovered after knee surgery and body is healthy....

The both need to shoot more though. Franzen can get the puck to the net, he's expected to shoot, but Filppula has to start shooting more. It's getting ridiculous.

Yea Franzen has been pretty good so far this season, but for a guy with such a quick release, he sure takes his time deciding to shoot

I agree, I remember I wasn't a fan of using Hudler in the same role last year too. We don't need a F at the point instead of an offensive defenseman, our OD corps is skilled enough. He hasn't shown he's got a dangerous slapshot. He would be worse than most of his teammates when he'd have to try and stop a shorthanded attacker. Good one-timer, one of the best on the team and probably the best available when Franzen is parked in front of the net.

Looks like Bertuzzi, Helm & Kindl sparked the team tonight.

Yeah, but Hudler is an awful skater. If he misses the puck, the PK'er is off on a breakaway...guaranteed. Proof: Richards (LA) last year.

I just think Brunner is much better shooting from the slot instead of QB a PP.

He was back on for the last shift of the second, just something he needed to shake off I'm pretty sure.

for someone so strong on the puck like zetterberg, he sure has gotten knocked down pretty easy so far this season

Again, being too cute in his own zone. Keep it simple and play effective hockey. This team is not good enough to play a puck possession game. Get it to the offensive zone and crash the net. It's not pretty, but gets results.

Nearly every defenseman has given away the puck too easily (except Huskins maybe, who has been really good).
