not denying kessels skill but im starting to think kadri will contribute more to winning than phil down the road. kadri has heart, and wants to be a gamebraker.

didn't think i was gonna like him for the first few years, but i enjoy watching him much more than phil.

Blew his confidence to the point that he watched games from the pressbox.

Take slow steps with Kadri, I'm sure Carlyle has set goals for him and things he wants to see, slowly increase the responsibility. I'd hate to see everyone pencilling him in as the #1 guy next season playing beside Kessel and logging 25 mins a night against top dpairings.
Schenn also had tendinitis and put on weight, making him slow as molasses.

If Kadri stays in shape and works hard he can take the next step. He still needs to improve skating a bit but he's been very good overall, very happy with his progress

Who thinks that shot block Kadri did in the game tonight was his own personal 'screw you' to Ron Wilson?

Anyone have a footage of that? I missed today's game.

I think that's a stretch.

He's playing well though, Thumped Ribiero which I enjoyed.

Kadri had an 80% faceoff win yesterday. Seems like his faceoff stats are inconsistent... different teams would do that. Last game they played in Washington he had a 54% faceoff win.

He took 5 face-offs, played 10:36.

Grabovski took 20 face-offs, won 12, played 20:09.

Not sure, Carlyle must have seen something.

Yeah probably. I was surprised to see the low amount of ice time Kadri had and the high amount Grabovski had. It makes sense to have 80% faceoff percentage (4/5).

Interestingly, Grabovski was a +2, Kulemin +/- 0.

Kessel most ice time, Kulemin 2nd. most - for forwards.

Grabo is a beast and worth every $$ he is getting. Plays against the best players in the league, and can still kick in offensively. Shows heart as well. One of the best signings the Leafs have made and should have an "A" on his sweater.

Pretty impressed with his lying down to block that shot last night.

Same with Kessel burning the jets on the backcheck.

Buying into the Carlyle system.

Kadri has been everything we wanted of him.

If he can sustain this type of play, even if his scoring drops playing against better D. He'd be an amazing 2nd line C.

Looks like he's slowing down a bit to me. Typical Kadri, busts his ass until it seems he's set with a job then relax. He's been good in the early going, enough that I was willing to buy into him but it looks like its the same old nazem. If he's going to be a "streaky" player (code for player who picks and chooses when to give effort) then I'd prefer we make him part of a deal for a better player while he's got some value.

Frattin is a PPG player right now in the NHL.

Obviously, he's the one to watch.

7 points 7 games.

He's also best +.- for forwards.

Yea I agree. He was so lazily blocking that shot last night. And did you see how un-engaged he was when he drove to the net with the puck?

Oh and that pass he set up Frattin with? I mean that's just pure show-boating.

And on top of it all, he played a whopping 10 minutes last night with practically nothing to show for it!

Ship him out now. Or better yet, burn him at the stake. Good riddance.

I'm starting to believe that this is just self-parody at this point.

If anything, Kadri has rounded out his game even more when he's not scoring. He had two huge shot blocks in the last two games.

Agreed.
I hate it when players relax by sacrificing their bodies and blocking shots. Makes me sick to my stomach.

Kadri provides more than Bozak from game to game. If his draws are holding him out of the #1 center spot than work with him daily on this. Bozak is not fooling anyone passing to Kessel 90% of the time. Bump Kadri up and see more production from the #1 line. Why not Kadri , Kessel and Frattin? Grabo, JVR, Kulemin. Bozak, macarthur, komarov

Nazim, arabic "One who organizes". He is born to be playmaker. Love the edge he have in his game, a player who shine in the spotlight. Competitive in all 3 zones. Will perhaps never be recognized as a 2-way center but he does what is needed of him. He have a decent shot even do I would like for him to shoot a bit faster, it can look a bit heavy sometimes.

Very pleased with how Carlyle is giving him sheltered minutes so he gets an honest chance to adept to the NHL. Vision and hands are already of good NHL caliber and have been since he was drafted. It is the overall game and strength that have been an issue but as he have shown this season that will no longer be an issue.

Why are you so ******** about Kadri?

It's like you are afraid of being wrong about his actual value.

Good lord some people around here...

I think Kadri with the Knights spanked Windsor a few times to many for him to handle.

Only solution coming to me is that Kadri kissed his girl

It is the balance to the Kadri is a star crowd.

I think the majority see him as a valuable asset that Carlyle is using with discretion.

If we did a distribution chart we'd have a few on either end of the chart.

That's probably it. I'm from Windsor and Kadri wasn't popular around these parts during the OHL playoffs.
