Kadri is outscoring Conolly.

Conolly has 4 pts in 8 games in the AHL. That is pathetic for someone who we thought could be our interim #1 Center.

TBH, the Kadri pass had more skill involved, the Frat pass was more of a hunch/instinct pass.

Frats pass was more of a (i hope it gets there) where Kadri s was more like (dinner is served).

Not to take away from Frat, that was a very pretty play.

Very nice goal. Great play by all but agreed Frattin's role was more instrumental.

Let's be honest here. Looks like this guys NHL career is over.

I can just imagine Kadri still being in the minors and Connolly playing if Wilson was still coaching.

No reason to think that.

No way...Tim Connolly will always be in the NHL if teams like the Islanders, Phoenix are there..

They will sign him cheap b/c no one else will want them.

Isn't he out of shape? I thought that was one of the reasons he was sent down and stuff. If he's out of shape and not producing, no one is going to take a flyer on him.

True enough. But look at who is on the Marlies for Connolly to play with? Ouch!

3 goals in 8 games for Connolly.
3 goals in 13 games for Kadri.

I really liked the lines last night.

Van Reimsdyk joining the Kadri line would be nice when Lupul is back.

Hopefully, we see the Komarov line stay intact.

I thought for sure Frattin was turning around just to dump the backhand pass down the boards into the corner for a cycle, and the dman was there waiting to gobble it up.....the fact that he instead made a beauty heads up pass to the wide open Kadri was pretty dang impressive. Great pass.

Imagine the roles were reversed and Kadri was the one with 4 points in 8 games? He'd be crucified, labeled a bust, and this would be seen as an excuse.

Can Kadri be our #1

Simple question. Can Kadri be our number one centre in a year or two? I see him as a Weiss or Zajac type number one. What do you guys think?

Ideally we would want a bigger player as our 1c but there's nothing preventing him from taking the role eventually. Just gotta keep working hard and improving his defensive game.

I wonder how many assists he has on Frattin goals?

He's still really small out there, not like a martin st louis small but looks like a boy
he needs to put some muscle on but even then i'd almost rather he's the 2nd line C so he can be creative out there and not have to worry about the load of a #1 C (defensive responsibilities, can't give the puck up at key times, take a beating)

Kadri can absolutely be a #1C. He has all of the tools necessary. He'll need a couple years of NHL experience but eventually he'll be promoted to that role I think.

He's already proving that he can play Center in the NHL and is already producing close to a point per game. Also, he's showing that he can back check and play physical. Pretty damn solid player, just needs to continue maturing and improve his faceoff skills.

He's 6'0 188. That isn't undersized by any means. I think he's doing just fine physically.

Kadri plays anything but small. He's leveled several guys so far this year. I think his size is a complete non issue.

I don't think it is a non-issue, but I don't think it is an important issue.

Just means he has to play smarter, which I think he does. He does get clobbered, but he usually just gets back up and moves on. We aren't asking him to play like Komarov, so who cares?

He is playing great but he still needs to put on 15-20 pounds of muscle in the offseason to take that next step.

No, he doesn't.

Putting 15-20 pounds would make him slower than Jason Allison. Do you know what15 pounds would do? It wouldn't make him stronger at all.

Wake up, he'll never be a huge guy. He never has, and never will be.

As he matures, he'll probably settle at around a little heavier than he is now. But putting on weight for the sake of putting on weight won't help Kadri at all. Stronger does not mean you have to be 20+ pounds heavier.

Strongly disagree. I think he needs to add another gear to his skating to take the next step. Adding 15-20 would only slow him down again.
