I hope we get to see JVR - Kadri - Frattin when Lupul comes back. I think that line could be very good for a very long time.

That would be a great line! JVR has played well with Kessel, but that is Lupul's spot when he eventually comes back.

Sorry I missed it (I never, ever, participate in the GDT as soon as the puck is dropped), but I noticed last night RC ripping on Kadri at the bench at one point --any thoughts what that was all about?

Bad giveaway. It was warranted. The nice thing is that he didnt bench him.

Kadri leading the team in scoring and for the most part has played quite well in his own end. He even earned some PK time (never thought I would say that).

He still has giveaways and times where he gets too fancy, but this is not really a problem because it happens to all young creative players.

Kadri needs to get better at faceoffs and improve his overall strength especially lower body. He needs to try out what ever the hell gave komarov those tree trunk thighs.

It was a giveaway and RC wanted him to know about it. RC proceeded to play him the rest of the period, including 2 defensive starts when the score was 2-0, and the last minute. He told him he made a mistake and then gave him a chance to be better.

Thats what I like, and kadri takes it as a challenge to be better. If that was wilson he would have been benched andd kadri's confidence would have taken a blow.

Agreed. Kadri has great respect for RC (while throwing Wilson under the bus in the process ) so unlikely he'd ever tune him out.

He has really improved this year, whatever he did in the off season (physically and mentally) has helped him improve overall immensely.

i think carlyle was upset because kadri was in a good shooting position but decided to pass over to macurthur for a one timer which led to a turnover

Kadri throwing wilson under the bus was priceless

Even in marlies games Eakins has been seen giving it to kadri on the bench, but Naz has so much respect for dallas he always tries harder to please him. I think its the same with carlyle. He takes it as a personal challenge, its just how competitive he is.

kadri has been playing fantastic, him and Fratty must make one of the better third scoring lines in the league (when healthy). Thank god we had Eakins down on the marlies, I think he has done wonders for the kids and hopefully stays within this organization.. Imagine if we had a coach like Wilson down there ? Kadri would of never played in the NHL !!!

If that was Wilson, Kadri would be on a bus back to the AHL with Wilson complaining to the media that he isn't defensive and blah blah blah....

As long as Carlyle is coaching in Toronto you will not see Lupul play with Grabovski and Kulemin. You can take that to the bank. Might as well erase that thought from your memory

That has nothing to do with age. All high end skilled players can be guilty of these things. It comes with the territory they just have to limit them which Kadri has.

People need to get off this size thing with Kadri... Man strength will kick in with time he's never going to be a physical specimen just like Gilmour wasn't and was great at faceoffs just like how Bozak is great at faceoffs and Grabo.

Kadri needs experience that's what keeping him in the AHL robbed him of.

Grabo is the shutdown line, Lupul is bad defensively. When you put 2 and 2 together you get 4, translation: lupul will not play shutdown line.

Most likely when lupul+frattin comes back:

JVR/Lupul - Bozak - Kessel
JVR/Lupul - kadri - Frattin
Kulemin - Grabovski-Komarov
Maclaren- McClement - Orr

I agree, you wouldn't want Lupul on a shut down line.

but

I doubt Grabovski will be in a shut down role for the duration of his or Carlyles time here.

I don't have a problem with the occasional giveaways that kadri has. When you are a creative playmaker, it is bound to happen.

But, Kadri does get pushed around a lot, so he should work on his lower body strength, to hep him control the puck with more authority.

I'm not bashing on Kadri (he is one of my fav players), I'm just saying that he can be a better player if he works on his strength and speed. I have no doubt these things will come with time.

This. It should really be Bozak's role. Stop playing Kadri with guys that can't play at his level. Give Grabbo some guys that can put the puck in the net.

Call me crazy but I think that the lines need a major shake-up.

Lupul Kadri Kessel--------Defence....er not so much but Kadri feeding Kessel...OK!
JVR Grabbo Frattin---------Definatelly some offence on the 2nd
Kulemin Bozak Komorov-------Very defensive 3rd
The McOrr's---------Say no more

I love this philosophy. I don't care who had chemistry in the past. The past got us nowhere other than a couple individual accomplishments.
