Just imagine if he had actually had any time playing with good players on the Leafs in the last couple of years and actually saw pp time. It could have been awful for his development! I know that he was a plus 2 last year on a severely negative team but that was because he was playing "sheltered minutes". Thank god for dallas eakins! Kadri would be nothing without him. Just like Colborne!
Your sarcasm broke my computer screen.

He was down in the AHL to learn to be a pro, play all 3 zones and work on his consistency. His offensive game have been NHL ready since his draft day. I think Leafs have higher hopes for him then "just" being and offensive dynamo. They want a complete player who can lead his line and team in a playoff series some time in the future.

I love his drive. The way he skates back and back checks. His vision and offensive upside has always been known. I love his new drive to be a complete player.

As a bonus, he even lays the big hit once in a while.

He's been great.

He's in a 70 point pace over 82 games this season. All while playing with Frattin, Macarthur, Orr, and Komarov as his wingers. And while getting very little PP2 time. And playing great defensively.

It's time to start accepting the fact that he may be our future #1 C.

Thank god the Leafs didnt trade him. It was torture watching them destroy him for 2 years. Its great to see him get the chance and show u how terrible Wilson and Burke are at evaluating talent.

How many of you praising him now would have been happy to see Luongo come back in a trade before the season's start? Sometimes the best trades are ones that never happen.

no, he's the poster boy for wasted development.

they fricken played him on the fricken wing in the minors for two years. almost ruined him completely.

all because they watned to play Tim Brent instead.

That saucer pass to kuli was nasty.

Kadri is making it look more and more like we have our number one center. Keep it up!

Lol I quit watching the team for about a 30 game stretch or so though through this.

One of the most nonsensical managerial/coaching decisions I'd ever seen.

BOTTOM LINE: Do not give up draft picks like the leafs always do. Hopefully this summer Monahan is a leaf.

Year two on the Marlies and moving him to the wing were moves that were questionable at best, for sure.

The first year though, he had no business being in the NHL.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves here. We haven't seen him in unsheltered minutes. He still makes a lot of turnovers at the offensive blue line. I know that's going to happen with a player like him, but until we get a top line winger capable of playing defence for him and Kessel, it's not a good idea. He's thriving in the position he's in now, let him stay there. I will say he deserves more pp time

This kid is making me like a fool. I am absolutely loving every second that he makes my former opinion on him look idiotic.

Keep it up Naz, you're only getting better every game.

Doesn't look ruined at all, playing really well IMO.

Not me. I never wanted to see Luongo in a Leafs uniform because of what Vancouver was asking (waaay too much, in my opinion).

Also, I wouldn't want that albatross of a contract the Luongo carries.

Last year, his final call up, I thought he secured a permanent spot, looked ready. That said, it was always a mistake to have him on the wing, and now seeing him blossom at his natural position is really exciting for the future. That grit he showed last night was something else, he's matured and he's also much more consistent. Great days ahead I think...

plenty of teams are happy to have young rooks learning their way with 4th line minutes in their first year.

leaf fans can't stand watching a young kid be anything less than an impact player right away.

Plenty use the AHL for development as well.

Guess it's a good thing he's making an impact then?

I think more than anything his time in the minors turned him into a professional. Glad he barely got time with Wilson.

Would've liked him at C in the AHL this entire time, but whatever. Also he should have been working with Gary Roberts TIME AGO

Its so nice to see Kadri playing in every possible facet of what we knew he could be. Tenacious, great hands, and back checking hard. Brazo Naz.
