Well ... we're 2 and a 1/2 weeks from the mid way point and only about 6 weeks from the trade deadline (and 75% of the season completed) ... so yeah there's not really a bad time to start considering points needed.

I don't think they need to "punish" Eriksson, but he needs a shake up. Spending some time with Eakin has done wonders for Ryder. Give Loui some time on that line.

Labrie-Wrenn
Only Coyle, Sneep, and Labrie are under contract with Dallas. None of those players are realistic options, and they need a 7th D on a road trip with Daley coming off of an injury.
So a trade then? Even then it would take time to do that.
Right, but there wouldn't be restrictions on a time frame to get it done. If I'm right, waivers would be impossible ... plus ... you're talking about getting lucky and someone actually waiving a useful D on Sunday if I'm wrong.
Tomas Kaberle and Ryan Whitney could be the easiest players to land since they are both in healthy scratch hell. Kaberle has a year left so that's a terrible option, but he's a puck mover with decent size. I think he's done, but I could see GM Joe being intrigued.

The players who are being scratched every game may come for free but they're just going to end up being scratched here or being waived because they're awful.
I don't want them to trade for a player like that. If they get desprete call one of our defensemen over in Europe and try to get them over here. We don't need to bring another awful player in even if it's a short term solution.

They'd need to be in Nashville by Monday ..,. doesn't seem to realistic for a Euro player.
