Should I stay back for another year of highschool?
Should I stay back for another year of highschool?
I want to stay back for an additional year of high school, most people I talk to are against it.
Reasons why:
I can take foods courses and learn how to cook. (small reason of the bunch, krishna, but would like to learn how to cook)
I can take econ, poli sci, history courses and boost up my average.
If I get a 70% in advanced functions, I can come back and do data management (required for honours econ) and get into honours economics at my chosen school as opposed to getting into applied economics with a 60% in functions and no data as it is not required.
I can play hockey an additional year (won't be practical in uni)
I will likely get a better scholarship (will help pay for residence first year as I don't need to pay tuiton)
Depends on one factor: if you're lucky with the ladies or not in High School.
I say this because I noticed a very crazy trend. A trend where many guys in High School who had luck with the ladies weren't so lucky with women in college while those guys had no luck with women in high school were very lucky with women in college.
The food courses are irrelevant. The other courses are semi important, but mostly for the chance to boost your average. I would say the decision should hinge on your advanced functions mark.
Im only a first year. Maybe some post secondary vets can offer their opinion on how much more beneficial the honours designation is. Do your have any offers of admission at the moment?
In Ontario, you can take high school courses no matter how old you are, but they are usually done in an adult school/summer school. If you've just graduated from that school, the school will likely let you stay for an extra year to get some credits.

No, waiting on them, tbh though I think the applied would be better for me as math isn't my strong suit and its less math.
