TieClark has a history of not being shy to show off his Lucic hate on the boards. He also once said that Lupul was not bad defensively. That should be all you need to know; just ignore him, lol.
Looch was a lot younger and inexperienced when he lost to Orr. Today, I like his chances. This is the last shred of pride many TML fans have left in the Bruins-Toronto rivalry, so they'e hanging onto it with a death grip.
It's not going to be pretty when they see Dougie in action. Buy stock in Toronto suicide hot lines.
I'm still trying to figure out why Orr is even in this thread but hey. Lucic lost to Orr, good for Orr. Who cares. Lucic scored 56 goals over the last two seasons.
Every time Lucic wins a fight, the fact that he lost to one of the toughest guys in the league in Orr gets trotted out to "prove" he's not that tough and can't fight heavyweights when both of those assertions are simply not true.
i think it has to do with the fact that it really wasnt that hard of a punch.
You don't need to throw a hay-maker to knock someone out. You just need to just need to hit the right spot at the right time. Carkner didn't see the punch coming and got caught right on the chin. It was a pretty solid right, he got a lot on it.
EDIT: Btw, TieClark, I haven't heard a lot of people saying Lucic is the best fighter in the league but anyone who says he is not the toughest player, per production in the league either rode the short buss to school in their early days or are bitter leaf/hab/cannuck fans.

Carkner got a taste of Looch's power last year and almost dropped. The scary thing is 17 is learning the craft of being a better fighter, not just an angry 235 pound beast. Kinda scary if you think about it.
As far as those that say the punch the floored Carkner wasn't that hard need to look again. It was a straight, short right hand from a big man right on the button. That will do it almost every time.
I give Carkner huge credit for popping back up and being ready to continue. Tough SOB.
Yep I was one of Looch's biggest critics because he really didnt have a lot of heavyweights on his fight card and was being proclaimed as one of the toughest in the league. I dont think the fight card is a valid argument against him anymore though. I dont know how that punch knocked down Carkner though, it is true at the same time that he isnt the same guy he used to be. But Lucic definitely isnt in the top 5 tough guys in the league either
