My reaction if the Habs can somehow steal Ryan Hartman with a mid 40's pick:

One year ago, what would you have said if I told you we would end up getting Galchenyuk, Collberg, Thrower and Bozon with a 1st, two 2nd and a 3rd?

I would have said it's a dream/unrealistic scenario and probably posted the same video.

For something similar to happen again would be something else.

For both Petan and Hartman to be available at each of our first 2 2nd rounders, it would take a miracle. But I'm pretty sure one of those two, or other players ranked way higher is going to be available when we speak for the 2nd time.

I'd be more than happy with Domi mid first.

Lazar is another Beauty pick to quote Cherry and me.

I agree if we pick Hartman in the 2nd round he would have to have a serious injury or something, but that's no reason to pick on poor Homer, then Bart would lose his Hero!

We should probably add Jimmy Lodge as a potential 2nd round pick. 6'2" forward that's been tearing it up since Saginaw traded away their top players. Now has close to 40 points in his last 22 games or so.

It's not just you. I can't wait to see what Timmins does with 3 2nd round picks.

Valentin Zykov could be a good fit for montreal 67pts in 57 games his first year in North America could still be around when we pick

Last year, they had a golden chance to draft another Russian from the Q, Zlobin in the 6th round , and they passed on him and took a Swedish guy, Nystrom.

I dunno if they are really keen drafting Russian kids anymore. (Galchenyuk, is not Russian...)

Gallagher diagrees with you, he says Chucky is Russian, since he has a Russian accent

Montreal's last Russian they drafted was Avtsin.

I think they're leaning more towards Swedes from the Europe group now, so a player like Jacob De La Rose is a likely target for the 2nd round.

Wallmark would be sweet, too.

The Habs rarely draft overagers. The only exception I know of are Streit and Nygren.

We just hired a new Russian scout, so I don't think MB has decided to move away from Russians. However, this doesn't really apply to Zykov. I would be surprised if Timmins were looking past Zykov. The kid's looking like he'll pot 40 or more in his 17 year old, rookie season in the Q.

DeLarose/Zykov, Hartman(if CGY finishes bottom 5), Petan, Carrier, Morin in the first three rounds would be heaven on ice for years to come.

Zykov is a pure righty shot scorer and a ''heavy'' player. He better be on our radar. Like I wrote last week, he already speaks decent english and accepted to go to Baie-Comeau. That's a pretty good sign of his commitment to being a solid NHLer.

But is he a possibility with the pick we have? I think he might go around 13-17 while if everything continues like this we should be drafting 20-24th

Since we do not know our regular season rank it is hard to discuss the 1st rounder.

Well, anything is possible as it only takes 1 team to like a player that much, but if he goes 13-17, that just means one of the Erne/Domi/Gauthier type forwards or Pulock/Ristolainen/Nurse/Zadorov type defenceman is going to fall further down the draft board, so fine by me.

Exactly. It seems like every other day some new player's stock is rising. That inevitably means someone of high value will drop. Very confident we'll be getting a great player in the first round.

Ok seriously, the kid's Russian and he knows it. Russo-American would fit best but in any case, Russian father & mother, grew up in the motherland for the most part and has a heavy accent. THE SIGNS DONT LIE!!

Also, he plays like a russian.

So who is the Wayne Simmonds of this draft? Is there one? Any guesses, That?

Because I want our own version, whoever he may be.

Keep in mind Simmons was actually passed over in his first year of draft eligibility as he wasn't even in the OHL that year. Then he was drafted with 49 points in 66 games in 2006-07.
